We started PINCH with a single aim; to design and make furniture and lighting that we would want to live with. We set our sights on what we might want. We indulged ourselves in the detail, and didn’t compromise on the materials. The result is our growing collection and we are delighted to have been nominated for, and to have won, many design awards along the way. Our work celebrates simplicity of form, the purity of a good shape and our emotional connection with the materials around us. We live in a cluttered world and any furniture or product has to work very hard to win its place. We believe in poetic design, making beautiful things, pieces that endure, inspire and aspire to be inherited. Our furniture and lighting work in both domestic spaces and contract environments and whilst we had a very personal vision of how our pieces might live, we delight in the fact that our clients engage with them differently to create very personal and particular spaces. PINCH is a collaboration between husband and wife Russell Pinch and Oona Bannon. Our pieces are hand made in the UK and are considered and built to last. 2

The Joyce cabinet is inspired by Victorian optometrist’s shopfitting. It has sliding glass fronted doors and a cherry-lined interior with shelves and drawers making it suitable for a variety of uses throughout the house. Perfect as a room divider or against a wall, Vigo takes inspiration from modernist forms and use of simple colour blocking. Some sections feature coloured panels, some reveal the space beyond, whilst others feature drawers and shelves, resulting in an elegant and quietly engaging piece. This deep and generous sofa is designed as an ultimate curl up sofa. It has deep feather filled cushions and a tall sprung back which effortlessly supports your head and back, combining formal tailoring with a relaxed and sumptuous seat. The usually conventional camel back characteristic has been reinterpreted in the Moreau sofa. The gently raised curve creates a stately silhouette whilst the traditional stiffness is softened by the continous curves delivering an informal and comfortable recline.

Bench
Twig is a sculptural bench and cube that can be used as seating or side tables. Each piece is hand made in limited numbers each year in Gloucestershire using coppiced Hazel. Coppicing is an inherently sustainable way of growing wood, where the new growth is harvested allowing the tree to live on. Recommended for interior use.

Twig panelling is made from solid Ash forest thinnings and is designed as sculptural wall finish for large interior walls through to smaller alcoves. The panels are hand built to order and can be made to bespoke dimensions. Recommended for interior use.

This graceful stool is made with a solid walnut frame and a solid elm top. Imo folds down through its centre, allowing it to be wall mounted using an accompanying walnut peg, so it may look as elegant when stored as it does in use.

The Yves desk is a modern interpretation of a traditional writing desk. Its straight lines are softened with curvaceous details on the legs, top and side panels. It has an inlaid leather writing surface, two drawers and covered cable access holes. Available in bamboo green, red or aubergine leather as standard. Bespoke leather colours available on request. The Iona Cheval mirror is a full-length elliptical mirror framed in fine solid oak with a shaker-style joint and brass rivet detail at one side. The solid oak A-frame is finished in a matt white oil, allows the mirror to pivot, and supports an off-white lacquered drawer section, whose top doubles as a compact low dressing table. The Iona Cheval mirror is also available with a dark lacquer drawer section.

The Iona wall hung mirror is a large elliptical mirror framed in fine solid oak and finished in a matt white oil. It features a shaker-style joint and brass rivet detail at one side and a split baton on the rear to facilitate wall mounting.

Reminiscent of a wasp’s nest, the Beata light comes in a variety of natural tones that change colour when lit to provide different ambient moods; from white, to warm linen to shady nutmeg.

The original inspiration for Anders came from haute couture fashion which led us to use the traditional hat making skills of a leading London based milliner. Layers of fabric create a sculptural and ethereal pendant light. As a hand made piece, each light is unique and variations to its shape and form will occur.

The Soren light makes a virtue of its frame, which is apparent through its banana-fibre outer when illuminated. A baffle hides the bulb and the multi ringed copper frame contrasts with the organic look and feel of the shade itself.

OUR QUALITY Quality is as important to us as the designs themselves. We believe in keeping traditional skills alive and our collection is handmade by some of the best craftsmen here in the UK. We use only the finest possible materials and use sustainably sourced FSC timber. Our pieces are built to last and, we hope, to be enjoyed for a very long time.
BESPOK E Our furniture and lighting is mainly made to order, or otherwise in very small batches. This means our clients can commission their piece in bespoke dimensions, finishes or configurations – always redrawn by us to maintain the original design integrity. Please contact us with any requirements.

FINISHES – UPHOLSTERY We show our upholstery in our favorite fabrics but can also upholster in clientselected fabrics that are of a suitable quality. If you are supplying or specifying a fabric we ask for a sample to ensure its suitability.
FINISHES – CABINETRY We have created a small colour collection for painted finishes (the swatches below are for guidance only and physical swatches are available on request) and we can also match to your own paint reference. Many of our pieces can also be made in the timbers below. Please note that changes to our standard finishes may incur additional cost.
