1. Introduction What is Hot spring? A hot spring is a spring produced by the emergence of heated groundwater that rises from the Earth's crust. There are geothermal hot springs in many locations all over the crust of the earth. While some of these springs contain water that is a safe temperature for bathing, others are so hot that immersion can result in injury or death. Source of Heat Water issuing from a hot spring is heated geothermally, that is, with heat produced from the Earth's mantle. In general, the temperature of rocks within the earth increases with depth. The rate of temperature increase with depth is known as the geothermal gradient. If water percolates deeply enough into the crust, it will be heated as it comes into contact with hot rocks. The water from hot springs in nonvolcanic areas is heated in this manner.
Medical Potential of Hot water Water contains sulfur and other minerals which treat skin diseases, improve blood circulation, Reduce stress, Detoxify and boost immune system. 1. Improve Circulation They are thought to help with blood circulation, hypertension, nervous imbalances and atherosclerosis. 2. Treat Skin Infections Sulfur is a mineral present in every cell of your body and is used to make collagen, which keeps your skin smooth and healthy. Hot springs are a rich source of sulfur and its healing benefits include treating skin irritations and infections such as rashes and eczema. Sulfur-rich hot springs are also thought to help treat dry scalp, arthritic pain and internal problems such as menopausal symptoms and digestive disorders. 3. Reduce Stress Hot springs help your body relax, which benefits many aspects of your health, including sleeping patterns and nutrient assimilation. The relaxation promoted by the heat and buoyancy of hot springs also helps increase the range of motion of your muscles and joints, making the soaking beneficial for individuals recovering from trauma or suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. 4. Detoxify Bathing repeatedly in hot springs can help tone your autonomic nervous system and normalize your endocrine system, as well as release toxins in your body through sweating. 5. Boost Immune System Some proponents believe that iron content in hot springs, along with other trace minerals, might help build your body’s immune system, making it stronger and more able to fight infections

Hot Water Spring, Tuwa Tuwa is located 15 km away from Godhra. The Location of Hot water spring complex is beside the Railway track of Godhra -Dakor and Ahmedabad national highway. Pilgrims ,students, Researchers, scientist and tourists come here from all over Gujarat And neighbouring states i.e Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. The time of maximum footfall is around shravan Mas,ekadasi and Diwali . Everyday 1000 -1500 people come here to take a holy bath. Tuwa has enough potential to perform some kind of intervention in architectural sense because of its strong background of historical events, events of religious importance and higher scientific values.Tuwa is a 94 hot water springs (kund) in one complex. Famous as a historical event of being a wedding place (chori) for one of the pandavas ;Bhima and Hidimba. And here you can find the foot print of bhima. In the ancient time this place was called as a hidimbavan. These place was an ashram of Sarbhang muni and ramchandari. Pilgrims come here in large numbers to a take a holy bath in hot water springs (kunds),Antimshanskarvidhi, Pinddan at riverbank of khari, celebrate the mela at imliekadasi, bhimekadasi ,Shivratri and Janmasthmi. Concerning the scientific values of hot springs i.e water under these kunds contain sulphur which is used for treatment of skin diseases. According to scientific researchers hot water of spring act as a stress reliever. And after taking bath person feels relax. At these place many researches had done studies related to thermal energy, biochemicals, chemistry,Physiochemistry,Microbioligy,Medical,Metagenomic, botanical,Uranium etc. All related to radioactivity research. In 1959 BARC researched on Uranium isotopes and its radiations for 1 and 1.5 year. Many departments, students and scientists study this hot springs. Reason of emergence Hot Water spring In Tuwa The Cambay basin in the State of Gujarat represents the northern arm of the triple junction in the Cambay Gulf. The anomalous geothermal gradient at Cambay has been attributed to the presence of a large number of plutons and mantle up warming related to the Deccan Trap volcanic activity . Thermal springs sampled at Tuwa are located on the eastern margin of the basin, where Proterozoic granites are exposed at the surface. Besides DFB, Jurassic Cretaceous and Oligo-Pleistocene sedimentary formations crop out extensively in the area of spring emergence.
Existing Condition of Tuwa Hot water Spring Current condition of Tuwa hot water spring there is a complex of 94 kunds. Which contain different Temperature. Pilgrims and visitor come for Take holy bath in to it.And Water is drained in in to khari River. There is Two temples One of is Shiv temple and other one is ram-shita temple,There is one chori of bhim and shamdhis.People of around 45 villages come for mela at shivratri, imli ekadashi, bhim ekadashi,Janmashthmi Etc. Currently 100-1500 pilgrims come at these place from all over Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra for Take holy bath into kunds and visit the place.Current there is a Muktidham wherein done Antimshanskar vidhi of people of tuwa Village and pind dan vidhi.

Peter Zumthor designed the spa/baths which opened in 1996 to pre date the existing hotel complex. The idea was to create a form of cave or quarry like structure. Working with the natural surroundings the bath rooms lay below a grass roof structure half buried into the hillside. The Therme Vals is built from layer upon layer of locally quarried Valser Quarzite slabs. This stone became the driving inspiration for the design, and is used with great dignity and respect. Out come study – Programmatic requirements, Conceptual idea of respect the dignity, use of local material and repetition of Module
