ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS COMMUNITY EDUCATION (210) 397-8100 Since the establishment of the Community Education Department in 1984, Northside Independent School District has fostered the concept of lifelong learning for all members of our society. Dedicated to the idea that the school is the center of the community, our doors remain open during “non-traditional” hours to offer educational opportunities that will enrich the lives of people both personally and professionally. LEARNING TREE AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM (210) 397-8108 Learning doesn’t stop when the bell rings. The Learning Tree After School program provides a safe and positive environment for children while parents are still at work. Youth leaders engage students in enriching activities, homework help, and recreation. Enrichment activities are guided by Problem Based Learning principles. Lessons adhere to the same standards teachers use, The Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
DON SCHMIDT Assistant Superintendent for Student, Family and Community Services
We support Northside Independent School District’s mission by encouraging the community to strive for personal excellence and lifelong learning beyond the classroom.
