What problems do we need to solve? Unlike interior design, urban design has no tech-powered resource connecting people seeking ideas with innovators doing the work There is no one resource that aggregates all aspects of city & town design under one digital roof With trends in public participation, there is no resource that meets all stakeholders where they are on the learning curve Small&mediumfirmsneedinnovative,data-driven marketingalternativestoexpensiveprint, digital&trade showpackages

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) 1) Who owns the content I provide? You own all rights to images and content. Like Pinterest and other online content aggregators, you grant us broad rights to post, re-publish, share, modify and otherwise use as technology changes . We include credits for your images because we believe credit where credit is due (and to help people find you). 2) Can I promote my own work? Of course. We may edit to ensure the most helpful presentation for our users. As the app grows, we will also begin to add multiple images for each method. This helps users and adds credibility. 3) There are a lot of (often competing) definitions of a "best" practice - how will you handle that? We welcome a diversity of opinions to clarify the conditions and combinations of methods that boost success. We also list "hot buttons" in each write up to address potential controversy. Each method has a questions section; we will track activity to see which methods/write-ups are most helpful. 4) Will the app be free? Yes. Over time, we expect premium features such as files, virtual reality apps, and method card printing. 5) What are Special Collections? These are combinations of methods that do not readily fit within a design category. This catch-all section allows us to target specific planning challenges (e.g., designing for density, Town & Gown). Authors, agencies and non-profits can also use as a useful "digital pamphlet" for a new publication or guide. 6) What kinds of technology advances will be included? In Version 1.0 (Fall 2016) we include: search, share, like, and questions. Users can submit photos, videos, and text for ideas. In the future, we anticipate geofencing, beacons, push notifications and in-app chat. 7) Can I post an ad on the Marketplace in time for the CNU launch on June 10? Yes - submit a form by June 5. The ad will post for free until January 2017. At that time, you can initiate a year's posting or we will delete the ad. You can always sign up later, but lose Founder's advantages. 8) How big is your audience now? Who is your target? We have over 1500 subscribers on email and social media. We are targeting civic advocates & innovators such as city/county commissions, advisory boards, professionals, non-profit groups, and writers. For advertisers, we want to provide options for small & medium professional firms (though all are welcome). 9) What is the Rapid response team? We will send notices out on the app as users seek on-the-spot expertise on various topics.
