Shadows in the city that inspire...

This publication is a compilation of shadows spotted in the city of London, which inspires you every moment. The shadows are geometric and organic forms, created by the absence of lights when obstructed by any living or non-living object. They are very animated and mold as per the dimensions of the surface and have a lot to tell and inspire.

This publication will take you through a number of shadows that we come across in our day-to-day life and have an abstract meaning. The abstraction is explained with the help of the quotes from famous authors. The shadows are treated graphically to enhance the thought of abstraction. There is also an Image Index at the end of the publication with all the images and its details, which inspired this publication. It is an experimental and abstract outlook to the term “SHADOWS”, taking it beyond the world of black and white.

A nice blend of prediction and surprise seem to be at the heart of the best art Wendy Carlos

Tempera on Canvas- a work of art by Dadamaino (Eduarda Maino) displayed at Tate Modern. The cuts in the canvas were intended to open up the two-dimensional surface of the painting, to introduce space and depth. The multiple shadows from different light sources create a nice blend of prediction and surprise at the inner layer.
