ReadyOne Abilities Database
The ReadyOne Industries abillities database provides authorized users a computer station with two screens. The first of which is accessible only to ReadyOne vocational counselors and HR. A file for each AbilityOne employee containing basic employee information such as thier photo, name, employee number, supervisor's name, diagnosis for disability, any additional limitations or accomodations required, skills posessed, etc. The second screen, accessible only to supervisors and managers who employ the AbilityOne personel is a read only screen, and does not contain their diagnosis. This forces supervisors and managers upon the work site to focus on the AbilityOne employee's limitations, required accomodations, and abilities; rather than implementing a specific "label" or stereotype based solely upon their diagnosis.

The custodial certifications for nonprofit agencies table is designed to provide information for NPA's involved in AbilityOne Program custodial operations. The RBSM (Registered Building Service Managers) designation is specifically for individuals such as project managers and supervisors, and is recognized world wide as being provided by BSCAI (Building Service Contractors Association International). CIMS GB certification is the cleaning industries' management standard for green building, and is provided through ISSA - The Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association. Both certifications are invaluable to prooving that an NPA is "qualified" to provide superior custodial service to federal government and commercial customers alike.

Crossroads Industrial Services - Easter Seals Crossroads
EPS Recycling (Expanded Polystyrene)
Crossroads Industrial Services will recycle approximately 240,000 pounds (120 tons) of styrofoam this year which otherwise would have been deposited into various landfills. Upon receiving the waste EPS, it is sorted to remove all contaminates such as tape, paper, plastic, etc. The sorted pure styrofoam is then fed into a densifyer, shredded, and condensed into heavy logs. These logs are economically shipped to buyers who re-process the material into plastic pellets which are ultimately manufactured into picture frames. These picture frames, available on the shelves of local Wal-Mart stores, completes an environmentally beneficial circle of sustainability.

The NISH Speaker's Bureau Visit the speechwriters who represent the NISH Speakers Bureau: Sarah Gray and Rachel Crowell. Begun in 2006, the Speakers Bureau currently includes more than 12 speakers. Every speaker in the bureau is or has been employed under an AbilityOne contract and has a significant disability. These speakers have been featured in news outlets, and invited to speak at venues all over the country; including the Pentagon and the White House Old Executive Office. The NISH Speakers Bureau is currently searching for new candidates who fit the following criteria: Iraq and Afghanistan conflict veterans who have a significant disability and are currently working or have worked, on an AbilityOne contract. Work, Inc.'s Unique Approach to CFM.
In December of 2002, Work, Inc. started providing CFM services at the JFK Library in Boston, Massachusetts. Since the contract's inception, we envisioned utilizing those with disabilities in all aspects of the contract from electrical work to HVAC and plumbing. Services other than specialized jobs, are all performed by AbilityOne participants, not sub-contractors; allowing for the creation of a create career ladder training in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing services. Participants learn their trade as general maintenance workers, working under "tradesman licenses". This allows for the hands on training needed not only to to learn their craft, but also to secure the hours needed for licenseing, which makes available secure high paying jobs within their chosen career path. This philosophy of maintaining everything in house while providing high quality training to our disabled population, maximizes employment opportunities for our participants while raising both public and government awareness of their potential capability.

The Project HIRED Wounded Warrior Workforce offers career exploration, development services, job searchs, retention technology, and retrainings while providing veterans wrap around support services. The program also supports employers of veterans with disabilities through providing HR support, management and staff training programs, customized workshops, and other varied consultative services. The Project HIRED Service Dog Program operates in partnership with the Wounded Warrior Wounded Warrior Workforce community member K9 Coach Plus, and is available to qualified veteran clients. In order to increase independence, offer social support, and improve employability, program participants directly contribute to locating, raising, and training their canine partners to fulfill their specific needs. This unique approach offers clients increased control over their rehabilitation process while preparing them for partnered success in the civilian workforce.

Goodwill of Southern Florida National Rehabilitation Centre of the Disabled (NRCD) - Nepal
Alliances, Partnerships, and Collaborative Approaches to Increase Employment for People with Disabilities
The existing situation concerning disabilities in Nepal has prompted the NRCD, with support from The Rehab Group in Ireland, to change the current climate. NRCD is committed to empowering people with disabilities (PWD) while enhancing their socio-economic status in a continuous effort to live a dignified life through honest work. For this, NRCD has initiated a unique collaboration with The Rehab Group to provide vocational education, skills training, and income-generating activities used in the production of incense sticks, candles, and general lifestock maintenance and exchange to over 700 PWDs actively enrolled in income generating activities. Glassbead weaving, sewing, hosiery, paper making, painting, embroidery, bee keeping, and vegetable gardening are just a few of the many life skills that NRCD has been teaching in order to rehabilitate PWDs. Since 1997 NRDC has aided over 7000 PWDs throughout the entire country of Nepal.

The annual SEA Summit is going to take place in Chicago, Illinois from October 30th until November 2nd 2011, and will represent the largest gathering of social enterprises dedicated to learning about the most effective practices in the field. High tech MODAPTS training solutions involving on-line training and other distance learning formats, have been recently approved by the International MODAPTS Association (IMA) board and are now available. These high tech options are being actively marketed to CRPs and commerical industries due in part because these training solutions suffice as an alternative option to becoming a certified MODAPTS practitioner; in addition to the traditional three day classroom training (an on-line refresher course is also available). All of these available options also include one year of continuing tech support. PARC - Pre-Employment Determination (PPED)
The PPED is a comprehensive and in depth pre-employment evaluation process. It takes into account the clients economic status, neighborhood, local employment opportunities, closest personal contacts, social groups with whom the person is most connected, daily and weekly routine, competency and functioning level, methods of training and intervention that the individual best responds to, interests, passions, and available support.
