NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR STORAGE TANK MANAGEMENT

Founded in 1989 and headquartered in Tampa, FL, the National Institute for Storage Tank Management (NISTM) is a non-profit organization that provides educational opportunities, resources and training seminars about the operation, regulation, and management of underground and aboveground storage tank systems. The Institute has a partnership with the National Organization of State AST Program Managers, and works with numerous state and federal organizations responsible for storage tank regulation, oil spill prevention and response, in addition to interstate liquid petroleum pipeline regulation. NISTM is proud to hold the 9th Annual National Aboveground Storage Tank Conference & Trade Show at the Moody Gardens Hotel on September 28-29, 2016 in Galveston, Texas. We’re also hosting our 2nd Annual Golf Tournament on September 27, 2016 at the Moody Gardens Golf Club. The expansion of the conference & trade show in 2015 was a great success. NISTM looks forward to the 2016 conference and trade show to be equally successful. We look forward to seeing you in Galveston!

Free Aviation Conference September 29, 2016 | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

NISTM is pleased to be hosting the 4th Aviation Day conference on September 29, 2016, co-located with the NISTM storage tank conference in Galveston, TX. There is no cost to attend this event for NISTM attendees and participating vendors.

Due to the recent evidence from aircraft wing tank inspections, microbial contamination prevention and detection are areas where fuel transportation and storage operations can play a major role in the improvement of jet fuel quality.

NISTM conferences are attended by staffs of companies which routinely transport and store about 40% of the domestic US jet fuel supply. It is very important, therefore, that these companies understand their role in the prevention of contamination. The barge shipping industry is also important to the US domestic airlines and military as it transports another 20% of the domestic jet fuel supply. Barges supply the Hawaiian islands from the refineries in Honolulu, as well as remote airports in Alaska, the Caribbean and Canada. In addition, barges move jet fuel along the Mississippi and Ohio rivers and to the supply centers for airports like Boston, Portland and all major airports and military bases in Florida.

This comprehensive conference will be beneficial for operations and technical staffs at storage facilities and shipping operations as well as engineers, inspectors, administrators, and managers responsible for storage tank facilities who wish to improve their overall knowledge and understanding of the role of these facilities in the petroleum, and aviation industries. More importantly, this conference offers an excellent opportunity to network with others with similar responsibilities situation and consult with jet fuel experts.

The operational and technical expertise of NISTM attendees will help prevent future fuel contamination as well as other jet fuel supply problems.

8

The list of expert presenters include: Southwest Research Institute, The Energy Institute of the UK, The Shared Inspection Group, Fuel Quality Services, Inc., as well as Domestic US jet fuel suppliers, transporters and airline representatives.

Don’t miss out on this important event. For details, contact NISTM: 800.827.3515 or visit www.NISTM.org
