Sharing Hope. NJ Sharing Network is the non-profit organization responsible for the procurement and placement of donated organs and tissue for the nearly 5,000 New Jersey residents in need of life-saving transplants. We are also part of a federally designated national recovery system, which is in place for the 122,000 people around the country on the transplant waiting list. We operate 24/7/365 with a team of over 150 highly trained and dedicated staff.

“ My role is to provide hope and guide families through their darkest hours. I consider this a mission in life.” —Oscar Colon, Clinical Donation Specialist

“ It feels like one of the most important jobs in the world... it's a privilege to care for these families through their journey.” —Linda Woznicki, Family Services Coordinator

“ A world in which nobody dies waiting for an organ transplant: that’s the goal. So we’re constantly innovating in our state-of-the-art transplant laboratory.” —Rose Ann Melendez-Tavana, Medical Technologist

Sharing the Power of One. How can one person make a difference? Just one organ “ Because of Jamila’s gifts, Janice McNamara was able to see her daughter graduate high school and start college.” Janice Campbell struggled to find what good could come from her daughter’s death at the young age of 35. Her answer came in the form of organ donation—her daughter Jamila’s organs saved the lives of 6 people desperately awaiting transplants and her tissue donation impacted even more lives. NJ Sharing Network helped connect Janice with the recipient of her daughter’s lungs, also named Janice—Janice McNamara. They are now close friends. Janice Campbell volunteers with NJ Sharing Network as a member of the Donor Family Council, a group that provides advice and counsel on issues specific to donor families.

and tissue donor can change the world for so many. “ It’s an honor to spread the word about this amazing organization that helped give me the ultimate gift. Without NJ Sharing Network, I wouldn’t be here.” At only 22 years old, Keath Gerald’s heart was failing. The medications used to keep him alive were also harming his liver. In August 2015, Keath received heart and liver transplants giving him a second chance at life. To honor his donor and the gift of life, Keath volunteers with NJ Sharing Network at the 5K Celebration of Life and as an educational speaker.

“ Getting a new heart means I can continue to live a full, happy and productive life. There’s no greater gift to me and my family than organ donation.” Jill Szalony is one of the nearly 5,000 NJ residents currently on the transplant waiting list. A heart transplant is Jill’s only hope of recovery from end-stage heart failure, yet she remains a strong, optimistic and vibrant inspiration to her family.
