Panarts Charity in Belfast and Nashville It’s a pleasure to be working with so many talented musicians at home in Belfast and over in Nashville Tennessee. Fourteen years ago, we set out to create the first songwriter’s festival in the UK and Ireland, providing a stage for people who are often overlooked, the writer of the song. With support from our principal funder The Arts Council NI and our wonderful commercial sponsors, we’re putting more than one hundred and twenty gifted people in the spotlight at Clayton Hotel Belfast. Right after belnash 2018, the Panarts Belfast Songwriters Showcase goes to Nashville with four amazing local writers. It’s all part of our international cultural exchange programme, bringing music lovers together in both cities. Long may it continue and hope you’ll support live music and discover the new talent we have showcasing at belnash. Special thanks to the Panarts Trustees and fifty five volunteers who give up their free time to make this happen. To Nick Martin and Sean Harty for website and design work. To our Patrons Gallagher & Lyle and Paul Brady. But most of all, to the people who write the sound track of our lives. Say hello if you drop by the songwriter’s festival. Panarts Director Colin Magee & Festival Manager Anne Coulter.
MARK SELBY This year we would like to remember our dear friend the wonderful Nashville songwriter Mark Selby who passed away in September 2017. We will always remember Mark through his great songs. Our thoughts are with Mark’s wife Tia Sillers.

A WORD FROM OUR PATRONS PAUL BRADY “Songwriters enrich the sonic backdrop of our daily lives with the inspired work that they do. What a dull world it would we be without them! Often overshadowed by the spotlight on the performer and singer, the annual Belfast-Nashville Festival provides an opportunity to bring song writing talent to the fore and to encourage talented new writers to join the ranks.” Paul Brady, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist is one of Ireland's most highly regarded and successful artists.
BENNY GALLAGHER & GRAHAM LYLE Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival gives the public, the aspiring and the professional artist an opportunity to experience and interact with performers from all over the world through the art of song. We commend Panarts for having the vision to take the festival to another level by implementing workshops, mentorship, music into schools and providing these invaluable opportunities for all. As established musicians, we have been unable to identify an educational programme that is comparable with Panarts methods of nurturing, promoting the art of song so comprehensively within the community.” Legendary song writing duo Benny Gallagher and Graham Lyle have written massive hits and their songs have been recorded by artists including Tina Turner, Art Garfunkel and Phil Everly.

With many years of touring under her belt, there's no denying her iconic country pedigree, but these days Ashley is attracting the spotlight with her own unique sound. Her music is a mix of her wide-ranging influences, combining the old-school country sound popularized by her father during the '60s and '70s with
