The Almighty, Who Wills Me to Create

I was eyeing for a small scribbling pad of 87mm by 130mm in my daughter’s cabinet for a few years. I found the paper inside interesting and I wanted to draw something on it. I took that pad much to her chagrin and started sketching. I drew 296 circles (239 full and 57 partial) circles, in the 20 leaves of the pad with a micro tip sketch pen and an engineer’s template. This was in the first week of August 2019. Then I started filling out each circle with design elements using a Staedtler Pigment Liner 0.1, black and Classmate Octane Gel, black pens. I filled the backgrounds with Camlin Brush Pens of cyan, green, yellow, red or brown in each sheet of the pad. The first drawing was done on August 18, 2019 and the last was done on April 19, 2020. Each of the drawing took about four to five hours to complete. Though time was not a major constraint, mood and opportunity played truant. The theme for this venture is free flow imagination, strokes and lines and the limits are the circles and the constraint and the scope are the media and the tools used. I believe this book shall be an inspiration for those who are into drawing, sketching and doodling and connoisseurs of art. Narayanan Krishnaswamy
