Preface
These paintings have been created mostly during my air travels where one gets an undisturbed capsules of time - without mobile phone calls, Internet and the likes. I might have read some official papers or books, which I would have done anyhow, during this period. This time capsule is very important for the reason that one cannot move for a stroll or walk-around. This capsules are not all that convenient to sleep off too. These paintings are all about a number of passions which I have nurtured and grown with - alphabets, words, typography, colours and shapes. This set of paintings had been brewing for decades and with the advent of digital tools available for creation these have seen the light of the day. The words for the alphabets have mostly been sourced from phrontistery.info. The artistic interpretation of these words with chosen colours, techniques and treatments are the result of interplay of number of factors.. All the art works in this book were created using I Pad Mini (Model: A1600 EMC 2849, MGJ02HN/A; Version: 10.0.2 (14A456); iOS 10.0.2) and Wacom Bamboo Stylus Fineline and on Paper-fiftythree (Version 3.6.4). I believe this book can infuse and ignite some inspiration to anyone who is interested in alphabet, colour and design. Narayanan Krishnaswamy
Acknowledgments
This is the second book of my digital paintings, the idea for which had been fermenting for a very long time. These artworks had been regularly uploaded in my Instagram page ‘n.krishnaswamy’ and are still one can them there. I used to mail them to Jayashree and Medha with almost nonchalant responses.
