B Y M S T O R R A N C E
Welcome to our Term 3 newsletter. It has been a truly wonderful year in Noro House where the students and staff have consistently gone above and beyond for the house This year the students decided upon our 3 valuesteam players, enthusiastic and fearless. Every Monday, without fail, I have been privileged to witness incredible teamwork whether this has been on the football pitch, in the swimming pool, or on the stage. The enthusiasm during whole house events such as singing, glee, drama, dance and ensemble performances has been incredible. Although the results have not always been in our favour, the wolf pack continues to stride forward in a fearless fashion To move from 5th to 3rd place in the House Competition displays the grit and determination of the house. I am extremely proud of each and every wolf in our pack, our motto has never wavered - the strength of the pack is the wolf and the strength of the wolf is the pack.
Through this edition you read about a range of highlights from across the year. There has been some significant achievements and stand out performances which capture the Noro House Spirit.

This was my first year as part of the Noro wolf pack and I could not have asked for a more welcoming family Spending time in the Noro house area, I felt the love and passion that each and every student poured into Noro Despite the rollercoaster of emotions that I was subject to during each event, I knew that every time Noro stepped onto the field, there was one victory they had already claimed my heart
I quickly learnt how strong the spirit of teamwork in Noro House was, as students from all ages collaborated together to organise practices, go over strategy, or just provide tips and advice to each other It was also inspiring to see how that sense of House spirit extended beyond Year 11, with Sixth Formers coming down to help out in a variety of competitions, including Glee, Rugby, Chess, Football, Table Tennis, and more (extra special thanks to Haeun Jeon, Sally Kim, Jiheon Kang, Thomas Zhan, Daniel Yoon, Hyeonki Kim, Huey Jang, Brian Jeong, Saine Kim, Jeslyn Park, Ricky Song, Luke Song, Shawn Lew, and Eunju Seo for going above and beyond)
I look forward to seeing what the future brings, Go Noro!
UpcomingYear7TransitionDay
As this academic year comes to a close, Noro is already looking forward to welcoming new members to our ever-growing wolf pack.
Earlier this year, Year 6s had an opportunity to come up to the Senior school to get a feel for what school will like for them next year
Current Year 7 students UChan Seo and Stephie Kim led a variety of activities leading up to, and on Transition Day itself and did a great job guiding the new wolf pups around the school
We would also to thank our upcoming Student leadership team who also came to introduce themselves to the incoming members of Noro and help officially welcome the new members of the House.

This year, we had some fantastic achievements as a Noro house, that is not only related to sports, but also ARTs!
Full of a mature and enthusiastic spirit, we introduced ourselves as almighty wolves through Whole House Singing, singing ‘Radioactive’ by ‘Imagine Dragons’. Thank you to Nancy who conducted the whole house. Moreover, a number of passionate dancers in the house participated in the Glee performance, along with the tune of ‘Dance Again’ by ‘Selena Gomez’ - achieving 3rd place in both singing and glee On behalf of the whole house, we would like to thank Saine Kim, Sally Kim and Jiheon Kang for joining us and choreographing the whole performance, even though they were busy getting through the Sixth Form
Towards the end of Term 2, drama students in the house unveiled their exceptional performance and potential to teachers and students through House Drama Furthermore, House Dance was simply incredible whereby four of our students choreographed in a single weekend and performed on the following Monday, winning 2nd place - indeed the best result of an arts-related competition! Thank you to Georgina Downes who organised both House Drama and Dance!
We also had put a lot of effort into House Chant as well as House Video & Hype Video, and it was great to see leadership quality from Y10s and Y11s. Special thanks goes to Jude Lim and other Y11s for creating a Hype Video, and Robert Park for drumming for our Y10-led House Chant.
Recently we had the House Mural competition as a part of 2023 Arts Festival, on a theme of ‘Secrets and Discoveries’. It looks amazing and thank you to those of you who participated in the competition and worked during the weekend on campus The house were placed 2nd!

First of all, I would like to extend the gratitude for all teachers that supported N10A throughout this academic year. Especially, I would especially like to thank Ms. Sultana on behalf of N10A. She is not only a wonderful art teacher, but also a highly caring and supportive tutor This year, we had some fantastic achievements as a tutor group From the start, we came together as a one community and brought spirits into the room every morning which enabled us to be chosen as the best performing tutor group, at the beginning of this academic year. As a tutor representative, I collaboratively worked with peers to come up with ideas for various events such as Summer Fete and I am really looking forward to everyone executing the process.
Uchan
My life in Noro 22/23 as a tutor rep pair was ecstatic. I liked the many activities that Noro has provided for me and other tutor reps For instance, I enjoyed discussing the problems in the school and some solutions for them I am happy to conclude that this year for me was fantastic overall.
Emma Chung - N11A
Being a tutor rep in Noro in 2023 had its ups and downs, but overall it was a gratifying experience to be of service. By being a tutor representative, this generally helped me in participating more in our house, and also helped me know more about “leadership”, which I think that due to this, it had become a valuable lesson for me

Bella Kim - N9A
2022-2023 was undoubtedly one of my most memorable years in NLCS Jeju. Although we didn't exactly emerge victorious and ultimately was ranked 5th, what can I say - As the saying goes some days are diamonds some days are rocks. Our disappointments today will enrich our victories tomorrow just like how the lessons extracted from our experience with "See you again", reflected on our performance of "radioactive" making the latter one of the finest Noro House shows.
Since you became our tutor at the very beginning of this academic year, you have put in an exceptional dedication towards our tutor group. You were welcoming every day in the morning, with a positive attitude that not even students could follow up with You frequently encouraged us to be involved in private conversations where we could express our problems freely. You then gave us invaluable lessons and solutions that would impact not only our academic careers but our lives in general You never forgot even a single thing that you promised us and finally, you always made us laugh.
We will never forget the things we ’ ve been through together as N9A, everything from major trips and events to a typical day in form time. We will remember all the knowledge you gave us and reflect on them to make ourselves a better person We will forever recall the house competitions that would not have been possible if it wasn’t for your active participation and support. All the memories of N9A will be stored within our hearts and we truly hope that they do as well in yours
Despite being new to the school, you have been our utmost supporter who provided us with confidence, knowledge and positivity that were necessary for our life here at NLCS Jeju It is indeed sad news for us and Noro as a whole house to let such an incredible person go, but on the other hand, this is a great opportunity for you to experience and thrive in our school As N9A, we wish that this letter fully showed our appreciation and gratitude for you, who will forever be our tutor nevertheless where you are within our school.
Thank you deeply again for your devotion to our tutor group and please remember that wherever you go we will always be open for you anytime.
Wish you all the best, N9A
Thestrengthofthepackisthewolfandthestrengthofthewolfisthepack.
ThankYouandGoodLucktoMrLong
Last week Noro House said ta very special thank you and goodbye to Mr Long. For some of us we we were fortunate enough to spend many years living in Noro (boarding) House and competing alongside one of the most caring, encouraging and relentless housemasters.
Since joining NLCS in 2011 Mr Long has made a last impact upon many young adults whether this was through coaching sports, trips across the island, house events and much more.
Thank you, Mr Long, for your unwavering support for Noro House, you will be missed greatly.
