While the city of Lincoln continues to become denser in the downtown area; it is advantageous to make use of the excess space above historic buildings in a way that acknowledges the original design while enhancing the existing context. “Air rights” projects present a unique opportunity to fulfill this demand. This project specifically is a multiuse project that includes housing and a gym.

In this project our class designed houses and a designed an arrangement that follow the characteristics of a pocket neighborhood.

Drawings Ever since I took the course about perceptual drawing, it has become sort of a hobby. I draw because it is an efficient tool in the design process, itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s useful for communication of ideas and finally because itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s fun. I donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t consider my drawings skills to be astonishing, but I do recognize the potential drawing has in many different architectural applications. For this reason I continually try to improve and advance my drawing skills.

Process Fall 2012

This project started with the creation of a form that was the transition between two distinctly different profile shapes. This form was implied through the use of 50 different profiles that were integrated with the pattern of a specific barcode. Finally, a covering screen was added that replicated form beneath it while introducing a new logic.
