A letter from the Chairman of the Board Congratulations to you for successfully completing the 2011 MS Leadership Class. Since 2009, the MS Leadership Class has served as a platform for men and women to display their passion and their desire to excel in their personal commitments and to share their success in business with the MS community. I trust your experience was worthwhile and rewarding and that it will serve to enhance your executive leadership adventure. Your generous gift of time, talent and treasure to the National MS Society will have a long-lasting impact on the lives of people with MS. Because of you and many others who support our mission, we continue to better understand the scientific mechanisms that lead to disease progression in MS so that we can stop, restore and end MS forever. Your selfless commitment and your extraordinary contributions will inspire meaningful partnerships in the research community in order to connect ideas and vital resources to accelerate the development of new therapies for MS. Most importantly, you are helping our organization change lives in ways that reflect a quality consistent with good health and wellness. Your active participation gave you an opportunity to network and take vital interest in our goals and objectives through interactive work groups. You’ve seen and heard firsthand the challenges and hardships that people with MS face. You’ve heard what it takes to inspire and motivate a superior, loyal staff using proven leadership skills. And you’ve unlocked some creativity within you that you did not know you had, such as raising funds. I join the volunteers and staff in urging you to continue to emphasize the social responsibility that compels you to influence the world around you and to stay involved with the National MS Society beyond your accomplishments in the Class of 2011. Lastly, I hope you will continue to make giving a priority, promoting a value system grounded on respect for others and a strong belief in self-worth. In a time when it is so easy to be self-absorbed, you have demonstrated the essential values of leadership: honesty, integrity, confidence, and compassion. It is remarkable.

Sincerely,

Greg Michels Chairman of the Board National MS Society, Georgia Chapter MS Leadership Class ‘09 Alumnus
