A letter from the Chairman of the Board Congratulations to you for successfully completing the 2012 MS Leadership Class. Since 2009, the MS Leadership Class has allowed leaders in our community to display their passion and desire to excel in personal commitments and to share their business successes with the MS community. From my attendance at several of your events, I know that the 2012 program provided opportunities for you to meet these objectives. I trust your experience was worthwhile and rewarding and that it will serve to enhance your executive leadership adventure. Your generous gift of time, talent and treasure to the National MS Society will have a long-lasting impact on the lives of people with multiple sclerosis. Because of you and many others who support our mission, we continue to improve our understanding of the scientific mechanisms that lead to disease progression in MS so that we can stop, restore and end MS forever. Your selfless commitment and extraordinary contributions will inspire meaningful partnerships in the research community in order to connect ideas and vital resources to accelerate the development of new therapies for MS. With no exaggeration I can say that you are helping our organization change lives. Your active participation allowed you to network through interactive project groups that helped us meet our mission. You’ve seen and heard first-hand the challenges and hardships that people with MS face. You’ve heard what it takes to inspire and motivate a superior, loyal staff using proven leadership skills. And you’ve unlocked some creativity in your commendable fund raising efforts. I join our MS volunteers, staff and clients in urging you to continue to positively influence the world around you by staying involved with the National MS Society beyond your accomplishments in the Class of 2012. We know that your good work has just begun. Lastly, I hope that you will continue to make giving a priority – that you promote a value system grounded on respect for others and a strong belief in self-worth. In a time when self-absorption is prevalent, you instead stepped up and demonstrated leadership values including honesty, integrity, confidence, and compassion. Thank you.

Sincerely, William J. Holley, II Chairman of the Board National MS Society, Georgia Chapter
