March 1 - 31 Newport Irish Heritage Month Celebrate all that is Irish during this exciting month-long event, including the famous St. Patrick’s Day Parade.


April 4 - 13 Newport Restaurant Week A three-course meal from some of the finest area restaurant without breaking the bank! From a steaming cup of chowder overlooking the harbor to fine dining in romantic restaurants, Newport & Bristol County restaurants offer an array of creative menus. $16 for a three-course lunch and $30 for a three-course dinner.




april 5 - 27 Daffodil Days at Blithewold Celebrate spring at this beautiful thirty-three acre estate on Narragansett Bay with a spectacular display of more than 50,000 daffodils.

april 19 Easter Egg Hunt & Brunch 10am. The Preservation Society of Newport County invites you to bring the children to meet the Easter Bunny. Reservations required. Visit website for ticket prices and to make reservations, or call.

May 24 - 25 The Atlantic Cup The largest and only dedicated Class 40 race in the United States returns to Newport Memorial Day Weekend. The Atlantic Cup presented by 11th Hour Racing will again be a carbon neutral sailing race and with plenty of activity for everyone to enjoy, both on and off the water.


June 7 Great Chowder Cook-Off Featured on the Food Network and Travel Channel, the legendary Great Chowder Cook-Off officially kicks off summer in Newport! The original and longest running chowder championship draws competitors and crowds from across the country. Attendees enjoy endless samples of traditional and exotic creations from dozens of restaurants and then vote for the best. Live entertainment, food and bar options, kids’ activities sweeten the deal for all festival-goers.

June 20 Newport to Bermuda Race The 49th Newport Bermuda Race is a 635 nautical-mile ocean race first sailed in 1906. Held biennially in even-numbered years. The race usually lasting three to six days. It crosses a stretch of the Atlantic Ocean known for challenging weather, especially in the Gulf Stream, where there are strong currents. The start is off Castle Hill Light in Newport, Rhode Island.

Newport Music Festival

The Newport Flower Show is pleased to celebrate its 19th year as America’s premier summer flower show with the theme Journey: Grand Vistas. The show will continue through the weekend with themed floral exhibits, horticultural entries, garden designs, photography, and children’s programs.

46th season. Newport Music Festival continues the tradition of presenting unique chamber music programs, American debuts, world-class artists and gala special events in the Gilded Age summer cottages of Newport, Rhode Island.

July 4 229th Bristol Fourth of July Parade The Fourth of July Parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will step-off at the corner of Chestnut Street and Hope Street (Rt. 114) and ends on High Street, between State Street and Bradford Street.

July 5 - 13 Hall of Fame Tennis Championships Top ATP World Tour tennis pros travel to Newport direct from Wimbledon to compete for the Van Allen Cup in the only pro tennis tournament played on grass courts in North America. Complementing seven days of pro tennis action, the week features special events like tennis clinics, the Angela Moore Fashion Show, family activities, and much more!

July 12 - 13 Newport Kite Festival The spray of colors across the sky along Ocean Drive in July at the annual kite festival is a sight to behold. The air is filled with the sounds of snapping nylon and kite strings as the kites whip their tails in the sky and the ocean breeze washes your face. There is nothing more or less to this jubilee other than the pure joy of flying a kite. Admission is free.

July 17 - 20 Black Ships Festival A Festival of friendship between Newport and Japan that offers a variety of events emphasizing both Japanese and art and culture.


July 25 - 27 Newport Folk Festival Fort Adams is situated at the mouth of Newport Harbor with panoramic views of the Newport Bridge and the East Passage. The festival at the Fort features 3 stages of music, food & crafts, and a number of displays.

July 28 - 31 Newport Bridge Fest Live local music for four days at variety of venues produced by Arts and Cultural Alliance. A musical festival showcasing experienced and emerging artists, alike. Appealing for adults, children and families and located at beaches, parks, wineries, restaurants, mansions and more! Come join the fun and Celebrate Newport’s Musical Heritage.


August 1 - 3 Newport Jazz Festival The festival features two full days of jazz on three unique stages at Fort Adams, one of the Park system’s national treasures situated at the mouth of Newport Harbor with panoramic views of the Newport Bridge and the East Passage.

August 9 Newport Waterfront Reggae Festival Enjoy a day of waterfront reggae and summertime relaxation! Rain or shine.

August 23 Newport Celtic Rock Festival Listen to the best in Celtic Rock bands on the Newport Waterfront.


August 30 - 31 Classic Yacht Regatta This event includes two days of racing and will draw a fleet that stands as a time capsule of classic design - from small traditional one-designs to large, majestic yachts built over a century ago.


September 11 - 14 44th Annual Newport International Boat Show One of the largest in-water boat shows in the country, NIBS features a full range of powerboats and sailboats from both domestic and international manufacturers. Find an extensive selection of marine equipment, services and accessories, plus educational seminars in a venue that spans historic Newport Harbor. Never-before-seen new boats and products are debuted and awarded in the popular Newport For New Products program. If you harbor a passion for boating, there’s only one place to be!

September 19 - 21 The 9th Annual Newport Mansions Wine & Food Festival Held in one of the most spectacular settings in America, this remarkable weekend experience features hundreds of wines from around the world, fabulous food, cooking demonstrations by nationallyrenowned chefs, live and silent auctions and a gala celebration.


october 4 - 5 Norman Bird Sanctuary’s 40 Annual Harvest Fair Nothing says New England in the fall like an old-fashioned Harvest Fair. From the Mabel Express Barrel Train, Monkey Bridge, mud pit and midway, to the Children’s Tent filled with natural crafts for kid’s creativity, there is fun for every age. Pony rides, musical entertainment, New England crafters, and fabulous food combine for a weekend enjoyed by the entire family. 10am-5pm. Tickets: $6 Adults, $3 Children.

october 11 - 12 International Oktoberfest The International Oktoberfest delights an all-ages crowd with Bavarian brouhaha and bubbly brews! Experience our International Biergarten and spirited performances by nationally acclaimed Oktoberfest show bands and traditional dance troupes, plus there’s plenty of authentic Austro-German cuisine to go around. So, find your flugelhorns, lederhosen and favorite autumn brew because this is a showcase of everything Oktoberfest!

october 18 - 19 Bowen’s Wharf Seafood Festival Area restaurants celebrate the “harvest of the sea” on historic Bowen’s Wharf, in downtown Newport. Enjoy a smorgasbord of seafood, baked goods, and kid-friendly fare. Groove all day long to live music by area bands. The festival offers plenty of children’s activities. Rain or shine, under the colorful tents.

November 22 - January 4, 2015 Christmas at the Newport Mansions The glitter of gold and the sparkle of silver will dazzle you as you tour three magnificent mansions decked out in Yuletide finery. Music, tours, and spectacular decorations highlight the celebration of Christmas at the Newport Mansions. The Preservation Society of Newport County invites you to make holiday memories with your family by visiting The Breakers, The Elms and Marble House this holiday season - November 22, 2014 to January 4, 2015.

November 28 - January 1, 2015 Christmas at Blithewold Christmas at Blithewold has a new theme every year. The Mansion is open for touring Tuesday through Sunday 11a.m. - 5 p.m. Buy your admission tickets online or at the door. Our wonderful volunteers work hard to incorporate the annual theme into their decorations and design of their rooms; almost every room at Blithewold is decorated for Christmas! Our Christmas includes a 18 ft Christmas tree, music performances, teas, sing-a-longs with Santa and more. November 28, 2014 - January 1, 2015.

December 1 – 31 Christmas in Newport A month long celebration of the Holiday Season throughout Newport. Enjoy a series of concerts, tree lighting, craft fairs, candlelight house tours and much more.
