Welcome to No Comment, Core Photography’s newly relaunched online digital photo magazine. Yes you will think we have heard that name before, and indeed you have. No Comment was originally launched by Bianca Baglietto a partner/photographer of Core Photography.
Core Photography has taken over the full running of the publication, changing little of the initial concept. This is still an exclusively image story publication. Images tell the stories, words only aid where the image cannot provide that finer detail. We have no intention of following in the lines of any of the publications in Gibraltar following the news. There will be no written political comment, no written statements, no lengthy opinions, we let the images do the talking. What is seen is what you get, bringing to you the other side of the story, the how it happened at the time, the what’s happening, the reality that is seen.
This welcome is probably the longest piece of text you will read in our publications. It is not that we do not believe in text, its just that we do not do text. Core Photography is a team of photographers with publishing experience. Basically we have merged our talents and passions and hope to bring to you a new form of publishing for Gibraltar, a new way of showing images, a new way of telling stories. And yes we will be exclusvely online, you just cannot print a paper version of such a magazine without incurring on massive print costs to achieve the level of distribution we hope to reach.
However, this does not mean you cannot get your print version as you can both download our digital copies or even print-on-demand via the platforms we will be using to distribute our publication. Plus when you decide to print you will be turning the magazine into your limited edition print copy book.
We just hope you will enjoy it. And if you do, tell others. The more people who read it, the more we can do, the further we can reach, the greater our chances of success. As we say, this is your publication, from us to you.
Evacuate its a .... bag
Schools, the magistrate court, Number Six Convent Place and many homes across Town Range were evacuated when a police officer found a suspect brief case directly opposite the Magistrate Court.
The area of Town Range was immediately evacuated as a precaution whilst the Royal Gibraltar Regiment Bomb Disposal team was called in to perform a controlled explosion.
For over an hour, at around 0930hrs all traffic and pedestrians were prevented from entering Town Range from the area of the Eliot’s Hotel to the former Department of Education building.
Traffic diversions were immediately put in place, with police officers cordoning off all entry points into the area.
Following the controlled explosion the area was reopened at just past an hour after the first report was received.

Danes meet Minister
Danish students visiting Gibraltar were provided with an opportunity to learn about Gibraltar and its community in a direct Q&A with Minister Steven Linares.
Although the Minister was made to wait for the arrival of the students, the visit, and talk were seen as an excellent opportunity to promote Gibraltar.
Man
A team of two men have been tasked with the thankless job of chasing apes out of the city centre as the Macques continue to frequently roam into the town area.
Armed with a blow-pipe and some putty they go about scaring the apes away from areas where crowds gather.

Stage One the organiser of Miss Gibraltar 2014 opened a stand at the Piazza to attract more contestants to the Miss Gibraltar 2014 contest earlier this year. Supported by members of the Gibraltar Tourist Board and former Miss World Kaiane Aldorino the campaign focused on informing young ladies of the opportunities of joining the Miss Gibraltar 2014 contest.
With just three girls signing up before the first deadline, it was decided to extend the time. The campaign worked as a total of eight girls picked their numbers at City Hall on Wednesday in a reception hosted by newly appointed Mayor Adolfo Canepa

the battle of wits
The battle of wits continues. The Collector of Customs this week closed the doors on the sale of tobacco from within Glacis and Laguna Estate, significantly reducing the anti-social behaviour conducted by Spanish nationals within the estates as they purchased and hid their tobacco.
The trend has nevertheless continued. With a shift to new areas, such as Zoca Flank where the images speak for themselves. Motorbikes and cars continue to use out of sight locations to conceal tobacco, whilst others watch for law enforcement officers, wait to cross into Spain, or organise others in the activities.
PICARDO VISITS ESTATES Chief Minister Fabian Picardo visited Laguana and Glacis Estate on the same day the Collector of Customs revoked licences on all retails in relation to the sale of tobacco.
Picardo took the opportunity to look around the newly refurbished Rodney House. He also spoke to tenants association representatives and both police and customs officers.

Everyone seems to have their heads turned towards the newly proposed stadium or the future of the mens senior football squad, following the two internationals at Victoria Stadium.
However, during all this time, 23 young ladies continue their preparations to represent Gibraltar as the woman’s national squad.
One of the youngest senior international teams locally, with young ladies still in school learning how to represent Gibraltar at the highest level within Women’s football.
Core Photography has been following the squad during the past two months. From raining day training sessions, to stormy weather sessions, to rigourous physical, no ball sessions, the squad has continued to train on a weekly basis.
Their training has included matches against boys youth teams, special olympics selections, and next Sunday against an 11 a-side women’s team from abroad.
