Bank Holiday Delays The bank holiday commemorating Workers Memorial day was marked by a two hour delay on all vehicles crossing into Spain. The delays started at 8.30 in the morning.

Veterans from the Royal Engineers gathered at Casemates last Saturday to march through Main Street. As they passed the lobby of Parliament House the took a salute from Mayor Adolfo Canepa.

Unite Gibraltar, the union, organised a May Day Rally at Casemates Square. The event was marked by the silent protest of members of the GGCA who claimed they had not been extended an invitation to participate at the rally.

RGP clampdown on tobacco

The Royal Gibraltar Police has launched an operation by Waterport Terrace which has seen all tobacco activity in the area stopping overnight. Officers are patrolling both land and sea on a 24hr basis.
