Urban development progress of the main site between 2001 - 2013 years

Concept

Sights from Tbilisi

Urban development of the Lake Lisi district has been progressing since 1980 year. During searching process, it was observed that goverment has foreseen to built the church in the near future. Cosequently, there was a possibility to imagine that this project was a real. Volume of monastry from city's sights is concepted as "BLACK SQUARE" by Kazimir Malevich.

Master Plan

The plan of main sanctuary has canonical orthodox structures, which is based on Georgian orthodox architecture.

WHEN I STARTED THINKING ABOUT MONASTERY COMPLEX, PROJECTING PROCESS BECOME FULL OF EXPRESSIONS AND RESEARCHES BETWEEN BRAIN AND SOUL SIMOLTANEOUSLY. I WANTED TO CREATE IDEA WITH SOUL, I WANTED TO CREATE MORE THAN SIMPLY CONCEPT.

Monastery complex has four main part which is connected as CROSS-SHAPED plan: •System of stairs (with gigantic walls) •Black dome (above Main Sanctuary) •Educational part of monastery(which has sight oriented,opened and free architectural ethos) •Monstic part (which has closed architectural character)

Monstic Part

Another significant part of complex is TUNNEL, which connects monstic and educational parts of monastry.
