IMPACT REPORT
1
A NOTE FROM
OUR LEADERSHIP Through our work at Noonday Collection, we have been fortunate to meet talented people in countries across the globe—many of whom face seemingly insurmountable challenges each day. A powerful truth has emerged through our conversations: what people want most in the world is the ability to apply their talents in a good job. People don’t want to live off charity, people want to thrive in a dignified job so they can provide for themselves and their loved ones. But what constitutes a dignified job? A dignified job honors the whole person— like in Ethiopia, where Artisans receive counseling services to foster healing from past traumas. It is flexible and compassionate— like in Guatemala, where workshops enable moms to work from their homes while their children play nearby. It is safe and empowering— like in India, where women at risk of gender-based violence take part in selfdefense classes and are educated on their rights. And it is relational— like in Uganda, where Artisans describe their workshop colleagues as a tight-knit family. 2

Artisan Businesses committed to fair trade practices are providing a crucial source of dignified jobs across the globe. That’s why in this report, we are honored to highlight the impact Noonday’s Artisan Business Partners are making in their communities—and how you, Noonday’s customers, Hostesses, and Ambassadors, are making that global impact possible through your purchase decisions. Today, over 2,000 women are creating a marketplace for Artisans across all 50 states as Noonday Ambassadors. Since 2010, we’ve gotten a beautiful glimpse at what is possible when people have access to dignified work and consumers have access to style made with love—and we know that this is only the beginning. Thanks for joining us in building a flourishing world,

That’s why we focus on impacting women in vulnerable communities across the globe where gender inequality and limited economic opportunities have held them back. Studies have shown that women reinvest much more of their incomes back into their families to directly benefit their children. Help a woman earn a paycheck, and she will take that paycheck and equip the next generation to succeed through nutrition, medical care, and education!

One of the daycare’s first graduates was Nambasa, who began attending at age one. Nambasa’s grandmother used to care for her, but struggled to provide nourishing meals— and as a result, Nambasa’s health suffered. Nambasa’s mother Nakato was working as a jewelry maker with Jalia and Daniel, but spent her days worrying about her daughter. When Nambasa joined the Ajuna daycare in 2015, everything changed. Her health greatly improved, and her mother’s worries ceased. Today Nambasa is a happy, healthy girl—and is moving on to primary school!
