Collection 2023

The 2023 collection from Design For The People is a continuation of our proud collaborations with Danish designers that all contribute with new, creative designs in high-quality materials.

This year, we invite the “hotel feeling” into the home with exclusive materials such as marble, textiles and burnished brass. We also explore the trend of indirect light that creates a pleasant, discreet ambience.

Vintage Italian designs with distinctive and iconic silhouettes serve as inspiration for new, interesting lighting designs. However, the collection is still anchored in the Scandinavian minimalistic style with classic designs, mixed materials, and shiny chrome surfaces. Focus is on recognizable shapes and geometric structures that our designers have combined in new, exciting ways.

We continuously strive to make timeless pieces you will value for years to come. Items that are made to last and will become classics that can stand the test of time. The use of quality materials such as marble, chrome, opal glass and brass, natural colours and a thought-out design are the fruits of innovative thinking that enhances our lives and the spaces surrounding us.

Danish design duo Anker Studio consists of Jonas Poulsen and Christian Troels Hansen. For Anker Studio, good design is a design that people remember and fall in love with. Bønnelycke MDD

Bønnelycke MDD was established in 1988. Driven by a nosurpressable urge and desire to work constructively and innovatively, Bønnelycke MDD started his career with the design of lamps, furniture and interior decorating. Quickly, he became known as an unconventional architect with no whims and fancies. His ability to challenge and optimize the manufacturing process itself is to be found in Henrik’s original professional background as a toolmaker.

Charlotte Høncke has always had a great passion for design and knew from a very early age that she wanted to pursue a carrier in design or architecture. In 2002 she graduated from Aarhus School of Architecture in Industrial Design, and a few years later she chose to become self-employed working with design full time.

Rochelle

The Rochelle series by Danish designer Charlotte Høncke in carried out in a modern Italian design language with three slender, sculptural lamp heads. Cool, almost masculine chrome details add a beautiful contrast to the matt, black surface. The pendant fits perfectly alone or in a pair of two above your kitchen island or in a corner.

With her own design studio in Copenhagen, Maria Berntsen has since 1992 focused on architecture and design.

Maria Berntsen is a well-established name in the design industry and has over the years collaborated with a wide range of Danish and international companies, where her extensive experience has resulted in many successful designs.

The Shapes wall lamp by Danish designer Maria Berntsen draws inspiration from elegant, organically shaped jewellery. The opal glass shade has a unique, asymmetrical form that plays beautifully together with the shiny brass base and creates a refined and intriguing look. The lamp emits a soft, diffused light through the mouth-blown glass shade.

Glossy

Glossy is the epitome of tasteful and sophisticated design. Danish designer Maria Berntsen has created a pendant that oozes of Nordic minimalism, where the combination of brushed brass and opal white glass contributes to an incredibly elegant design.

The road to becoming a designer has not been straight ahead for Sofie Lefèvre. She started studying medicine, but after a year changed her course and continued her education within the design field. Several years in London and a degree in Innovation Design from Royal College of Art gave her handson experience and the drive to pursue a career within design.

Indirect light is the driving force for the Spargo wall light by Danish Anker Studio. The large, slightly curved shade reflects the light onto the wall and diffuses it into the room. The shade is elegantly held by the brushed brass base.

Decorative novelties 2023

Collection 2023

For 2023, we have been working intensely with several trend themes for the decorative collection. The trends are visible in every design – and help us tell the story about the new products from the first choices of shapes, materials and colours to the end result: the designs in actual homes where they fill the needs of our happy customers.

The 2023 style universe ranges from classic New Nordic designs that are colourful, modern and streamlined to more raw, industrial pieces. We explore nature’s materials as marble and paper and expand in the more Art Deco and vintage style universe.

As something completely new we explore the world of lighting for the child’s room. Wall, pendants and table lamps in cute, organic shapes that are perfect for making the kids feel safe during the night.

Common to all is our continuous wish to create products you want to bring home.

What is FSC TM ?

We focus on protecting our resources and the environment. This is one of the reasons why we have been FSC certified since 2016. FSC certification is about using trade forest products such as wood and paper from responsible sources, and ensuring clear traceability for the wood – all the way from forest to the finished product in the shop.

Responsible sources refers to local populations, animals and plant life being taken into consideration, that logging is done in an environmentally appropriate way and that the deforested areas are replanted.

The desire and motivation for FSC certification of the products which include wood is a natural continuation and development of our approach to environment and sustainability – and we will continue to demand FSC certified wood for those of our design products that include wood.

We see sustainability as a task involving everyone associated with Nordlux – from the owners, board and management to employees and suppliers.

*FSC TM stands for Forest Stewardship Council TM and is a recognised international non-profit labelling scheme for wood and paper.

This year’s functional collection incorporates new technologies and modern design making everyday life easier, smarter and better with lighting.

For 2023, we introduce our brand-new Dovina mirror series that creates the perfect ambience in the bathroom with an indirect backlight effect.

For 2023, the DNA of our outdoor range is defined by durable materials and designs that are made to last for many years. We continuously work towards a greener tomorrow through both natural energy sources, anti-light pollution and long-term durability.

The new range also expands and improves our Designed For Seaside concept. Our Seaside products that are made to last for many years both in terms of design and materials invites the consumer to break with throwaway culture. In addition, this year we are focusing on limiting light pollution to preserve the view of the beautiful night sky that is uniquely found in coastal areas.

2023 marks the beginning of a year where quality of life and sustainability are two paramount factors. Durability, design and “hygge” describes the 2023 collection and defines the framework for what can be expected in the next few years.
