Temppeliaukio Rock Church Quarried out of the natural bedrock, Temppeliaukio Church is one of Helsinki‘s most popular tourist attractions. The interior walls are created naturally by the rock. The church was designed by architects Timo and Tuomo Suomalainen and opened in 1969. Due to its excellent acoustics the church is a popular venue for concerts. Seurasaari Island The open-air museum of Seurasaari is located on a beautiful lush island just a few kilometers from the heart of Helsinki. The island is a tranquil nature haven in the midst of the city and at the museum the traditional Finnish way of life is displayed in the cottages, farmsteads and manors of the past four centuries that have been relocated from all around Finland. Museums Kiasma is a museum of contemporary art under the umbrella of the Finnish National Gallery. Its primary role is to educate the public on contemporary art and to strengthen the status of art in Finland in general. A lively cultural centre and meeting place, Kiasma is the place for pleasure and experience. The name derives from ‘chiasm’, which stands for an intersection, particularly the crossing of optic nerves. Ateneum is the most popular museum in Finland. The collections include Finnish art from the 1750s to the 1960s and western art from the latter half of the 1800s to the 1950s, including many national treasures. HAM, officially the Helsinki Art Museum, looks after an art collection that belongs to the people of Helsinki, which includes over 9,000 individual works of art. HAM maintains and accrues this art collection, which also includes the city’s public artworks. In its domestic and international exhibitions held at Tennis Palace, HAM showcases modern and contemporary art.

Helsinki City Museum is the world’s only museum focusing on Helsinki. Personal experiences and daily life in the Helsinki of the past are reflected in permanent and changing exhibitions, with a Time Machine and in Children’s Town. Löyly – An Urban Oasis Sauna bathing is an essential part of Finnish culture and national identity. There are only 5,4 million Finns but 3,3 million saunas. In Löyly (meaning the steam that comes when you throw water on hot stones in a sauna) Helsinki will offer both locals and visitors a public sauna experience all year round – a must when visiting Finland! Relax in different saunas or enjoy drinks, snacks, lunch or a proper dinner at the restaurant or on the levelled terraces stretching over the sea. Löyly, located just a short distance from the city centre on the southern tip of the Helsinki peninsula, offers exceptional architecture in a unique location on the beautiful Helsinki waterfront. Allas Sea Pool, Flytour Helsinki XD & Skywheel Allas Sea Pool complex brings together swimming, saunas, urban culture and sustainable development and provides the citizens and visitors of Helsinki a centre of good life in the heart of the city. Allas Sea Pool will be completely finished in the spring of 2017, when the main building is completed including roof terraces, á la carte restaurant, The Baltic Sea Center, a shop and conference rooms. The Baltic Sea Center introduces the life forms and the protection of the Baltic Sea and Archipelago. Adjacent to Allas Sea Pool, Flytour Helsinki XD is a 4D theater - a ride that takes you over, around and through the city of Helsinki in 10 minutes. In the vicinity one can also gain a new perspective on Helsinki by riding the Skywheel Helsinki. You can even sip champagne while enjoying the ride!

VISIT VUOSAARI Verdant isle near the heart of Helsinki Vuosaari was voted the most attractive region in Helsinki in a survey carried out a few years ago by the largest newspaper in Finland. Indeed, Vuosaari is synonymous with the greenest, most aquatic part of the capital city. It is no coincidence, then, that Vuosaari can boast of the largest number of city-dwellers born and bred in Helsinki – so expect to run into some true Helsinki natives while visiting Vuosaari. Historic and urban According to a legend, the dragon-prowed Vikings ships were not an unfamiliar sight passing by the ancient shores of Vuosaari. As the centuries have passed, the Vuosaari that used to bring to mind mansions and villas has evolved into the largest, most global area of Helsinki. Thanks to its harbor, Vuosaari contains a booming center for import/export, responsible for more than a third of the national volume. Lush nature coexists side by side with rugged urbanity in Vuosaari. Easy to travel in and out Vuosaari lies only a 20-minute commute from both the city center and the airport. You can reach Vuosaari by bicycle, car or subway. Additionally, at summer Vuosaari is accessible by sea via a scheduled boat service.
