I love this time of the year. Although the days are shorter and somewhat colder, there is something special and romantic about winter. Perhaps it is the build-up to the seasonal festivities or just longer evenings that invite you to relax and start planning your wedding in front of the fire with a cup of hot chocolate and your favourite wedding magazine. I am very excited about our winter issue – we have some lovely new features - a fabulous ‘Real Wedding‘ from Gemma and Rob submitted by lovely peeps at Dazed Photography (p.44) , along with our popular Wedding Expert Advice columns about your skin and health. ‘Wedding Toastmaster at your service! ‘is also a great article the expert Norfolk Toastmaster John Driscoll (p.56-57). With Christmas (and Valentine’s Day) just round the corner we found some great gift ideas for HIM & HER (p. 28 & p.52) Bridal fashion features across the magazine includes ideas for winter wedding dresses, some lovely outfits for the Mums and wedding light lingerie ideas! We haven’t forgotten the Grooms this time either – ‘Grooms Fashion’ (p.51) and something very special from Truman’s of Norwich is also featured in this issue.

Sedgeford Hall

TELL US ABOUT THE VENUE Sedgeford Hall is an elegant Grade II listed house, completed in 1713, it is reputed to be one of the county’s finest examples of the Queen Anne period. It is privately owned and sits in a peaceful and secluded setting amidst parkland, woods and farmland. There are several beautiful lakes only a short walk from the house and several lovely walled gardens. There is accommodation for 26 guests in Sedgeford Hall including a mahogany panelled four poster room, the quaint adjacent Theatre cottage and a newly refurbished loft apartment. HOW MANY WEDDINGS DO YOU HOST A YEAR? We currently host weddings a year.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD COUPLES BOOK THEIR WEDDING VENUE? We recommend that couples booking their venue with us should aim to book a year in advance to ensure they get their preferred date, especially in the summer months. However, if we have availability we can also work closely with the bride and groom and organise a wedding three months prior.

We can still accommodate couples looking to wed in 2014.

My favourite part of helping to plan and arrange a couple’s wedding is talking through their unique ideas and wishes for their day and helping them to make it a reality, seeing it all come together on the day.

WOULD YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE OR TIPS FOR THE COUPLES IN NORFOLK? Book your venue first; at Sedgeford Hall we have a dedicated wedding planner who can then help you with all other stages of your wedding through our tried and trusted suppliers and our own catering team. At all of our venues, we provide this service, saving the bride and groom time and stress when organising all other aspects of their wedding.

Beauty

WEDDING SKIN SOS

Page 12

Your wedding should be the best time in a woman’s life but it can also be the busiest, most demanding, and the most stressful time, therefore causing unexpected skin problems to appear. Here are my solutions to common wedding skin emergencies.

Skin Care PROBLEM: A zit appeared on my face the day before my wedding. Help!

PROBLEM: The tears of joy have caused my eyes to be puffy.

SOLUTION: Don’t panic. Instead, follow these three simple steps.

SOLUTION: Follow these two steps.

SOLUTION: Follow these three steps.

1. Apply a compress. Extreme cold can help to reduce swelling, so apply a bag of frozen peas over the eyes and keep on for ten minutes. Repeat every hour. You can also keep a spoon in the refrigerator, and apply that to the under eye area. This can help as well.

1. Keep the room temperature cool. It’s common for the excitement and nervousness of your wedding day to cause increased blood flow to the skin, and being in a cool environment can help keep the temperature of the skin and body lower to prevent any unnecessary redness.

1. Apply ice. Due to the cold temperatures of the ice, it can help reduce inflammation in a blemish to diminish redness and swelling. How to: Apply ice for ten minutes at a time and repeat every few hours… 2. Apply a nondrying spot treatment or cortisone cream. When most blemishes appear, they’re in their red, swollen inflammation stage, so immediately applying a spot treatment could help reduce the appearance of the blemish. But due to the drying nature of many spot treatments, they could leave the skin dry, flaky, and more irritated, which will make wedding makeup not go on as smoothly – therefore making the blemish more noticeable. The key to hiding a blemish on your wedding day is to ensure that you don’t disrupt the surface of the skin with harsh drying products. By using a nondrying, anti-inflammatory spot treatment like Priori perfection gel or an over-the-counter cortisone cream, you can help to reduce inflammation without disrupting the texture on the surface of the skin. 3. Don’t pick at the blemish! Again, the key to making an unexpected blemish the least noticeable on your wedding day is to not disrupt the skin’s surface, and as we all know, picking a blemish only results in an oozing, bleeding, messy scab. So do know that a picked-at blemish is far harder to conceal and will be far more noticeable than a closed bump. The choice is yours.

2. Massage the eye area. With your ring finger, apply a nourishing eye serum like Priori CoffeeBerry radiance eye Serum to the eye area, and in small circular motions, massage the skin. The stimulation from the massage can help encourage fluids to work their way out from the area around the eyes. Follow up with some light tapping under the eyes and always use your ring finger for the lightest touch. PROBLEM: My skin is dry and flaky, and I’m afraid my makeup won’t go on smoothly. SOLUTION: Exfoliate. Certainly it is hard to have makeup look as nice on dry, flaky skin, which is why you should never use products that leave your skin feeling tight or dry, or make it look flaky and irritated, regardless of whether it’s your wedding day or not. Lightly polish the skin with a very gentle facial scrub that uses spherical beads like Priori AHA facial scrub that will very gently polish away dry, flaky skin cells. This also combines Lactic acid to ensure the pores are swept clean and hydration is boosted.

PROBLEM: My nerves are causing my skin to get red and flushed.

2. Use a gel mask. Put a gel mask like Vitage skin calming Aloe gel in the fridge and apply it to clean skin, leaving on for 15 minutes. Repeat as needed. Gel masks, especially when they are kept in the fridge, have a cooling, anti-inflammatory effect on the skin. 3. Apply ice packs. If you need a quick fix to reduce redness and lower the temperature on the skin, ice packs can do the trick. Most importantly, don’t fret. Most often, you’re the only one that notices any skin emergencies that might come up. Relax, take deep breaths, and enjoy your wedding day!

Sana Brow Studio

SANA BROW STUDIO It is true when people say that eyebrows frames woman’s face. Although the trends change from thin to thick and dark or light the perfectly groomed brows will never go out of fashion! If done correctly and to suit your face, the brows will not only open up your eyes, but also can make you look younger! We visited Sana at her brow studio at Pavilion Hair and beauty based on Southwell Road in Norwich to check out an alternative way of removing the unwanted hairs – threading. Sana, who has been practicing threading for over 14 years back home in Pakistan, learned the technique from her mother and practiced on her sisters before she became a fully qualified threading specialist. Sana strongly believes that threading has become particularly popular in Europe and England in the last few years and has many advantages over waxing or plucking: · It is quick, less painful and more precise to give better eyebrow shapes · Gentle to your skin with no chance of in growing hair compared to waxing and tweezing · Natural way of hair removal from the root that does not involve the use of chemicals · Can easily be performed on sensitive skin with very low chances of reaction The result can last for up to 4 – 6 weeks depending on hair growth and area of the face. After treatment, unwanted hair will start to grow back light and finer as it is pulled out at the root which makes it weaker. You can get re-threaded as soon as hair grows just above the skin, whereas with waxing the hair needs to be at least 2/8” long before it can be removed again. We were really impressed with the speed and precision of Sana’s work and the end result was absolutely spot on! We have never managed to get such perfect yet naturally looking shape anywhere else before so we were rather impressed! With over 14 years of experience it is clear that Sana is a true threading specialist and we are certainly going to be returning for some more treatments!

Unlike tweezing or plucking, eyebrow threading removes one clean line of hairall at once, making it much quicker and cleaner to shape your brows!

Long Lasting Precision Shaping Finer and Lighter Re-Growth No Mess

Zig and Zag

WHY YOU NEED TO ZIG WHILE EVERYONE ELSE ZAGS WHEN IT COMES TO WEIGHT LOSS There is an ad doing the rounds on TV at the moment featuring Dick Fosbury? You know - the guy who revolutionised the high-jump with the fosbury flop. The story behind the ad is that for years, conventional wisdom was for high-jumpers to run and then dive, head and face first over the bar. But Dick Fosbury thought differently. He designed his own unique style where he would roll over on take-off and arch his back in mid air so that he could then flick has feet over at the end. Did it work? It’s now the technique that all modern day highjumpers use. All because Dick Fosbury was prepared to think differently. It’s the same with weight loss and fitness. For years conventional wisdom has been eat less and move more. Reduce calories, eat a low fat diet and do cardio. But is it working? And if it is, why are record numbers of people so dissatisfied with their bodies right now? For a while now, a small underground group of trainers have been prepared to challenge that conventional wisdom. Zigging while everyone else zags. Focusing on nutrients and not calories. Eating fats and not cutting them out. Training smart, rather than hard and long. In fact there was an article in a national newspaper on it just recently asking “Could a low fat diet be making you fatter?” On all our programmes we use the Dick Fosbury approach. We zig while the others zag. It gets results. We also post videos and photos of our clients sharing their successes. Body Transform Fitness holds trial weeks too, so you can come along and talk to the people in those photos and see for yourself. There is also got a free training programme which you can try at home. Test us out and see how much better you can feel in just 7-days with the Fosbury approach to fat loss and get in amazing shape for your wedding. Boudoir Photography

BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY We had the pleasure to meet lovely Rebecca Lindon – fashion, wedding and boudoir photographer, in previous life – journalist and talk to her all about photography. Rebecca enjoys capturing raw beauty in natural settings in location shoots using natural light for best results in capturing ethereal beauty from within. In the article bellow Rebecca explains why she feels the boudoir photography is so important part of her work and gives some tips for Brides wanting to surprise their loved one with a personal photo album before the big day or just a treat... I’m always striving for emotive, honest photographs that will stand the test of time because of their classic beauty. For that reason I don’t shoot boudoir in pin-up outfits or in the studio. I use natural lights and organic settings and I utilise that nervous tension, that we all feel when stripping down in front of someone for the first time, to get images that convey women in their rawest, purest form. I see boudoir photography as an invitation in to a woman’s private world. It rarely involves full nudity but rather implied sexuality and femininity – that’s the appeal.

“images that convey women in their rawest, purest form”

Page 17

Featured Article

WHY BOUDOIR? I’ve shot boudoir for women who want to put together an album for their husband-to-be as a gift on their wedding day, pregnant women who want to record the changes to their beautiful body and single women who just want to give a gift to themselves – a celebration of their body. More and more often I am being asked to incorporate a small boudoir shoot whilst a bride is getting ready on the morning of her wedding. The perfect chance to enjoy some silent, solitary moments before the whirlwind of the day commences.

Page 18

Couples are also more frequently choosing to embark on a boudoir shoot together. For me, that’s a rare occurrence but one I look forward to exploring. Dudoir is a growing area as well – the experience isn’t exclusively for us girls!

WHAT TO EXPECT The main difference with boudoir over any other portrait shoot is the preparation. You may not employ a hair and make-up artist for an engagement shoot but you may certainly want to consider that for boudoir. Part of this experience is the pampering. It helps you feel your best and then ultimately, most relaxed. I find that clients who step straight in front of the camera are more uptight which shows on the face. Enjoying some time being ‘made-over’ allows us to talk and bond and results in more confidence in front of the camera. Page 20

Your time in front of the camera may only be around 30 minutes per look. I recommend shooting two ‘looks’ – one with lighter, natural make-up and then a sexier, dramatic look with a different outfit or set of lingerie. On that subject, we are always told to wear more make-up on camera but be careful not to go overboard. Levels of sexiness aren’t always increased with the more make-up you apply.

POSING Throw out those poses that you see on the front of men’s magazines. They aren’t sexy. Instead let your photographer gently guide you in to the most flattering poses for your body. When I shoot I don’t encourage my

clients to ‘pose’ in the traditional way – instead I like to find natural expressions and moments. I often get the best images during times when my clients think I’ve stopped shooting and I catch them unawares. Often I just focus on an abstract body part to imply sensuality. Elegance is far more attractive than vulgarity.

“elegance is f attractive th

far more han vulgarity

PROPS If you’re using props then they should make sense to the shoot and not feel out of place. I often ask clients to bring something small that has a special meaning to them. That might be jewellery, a flower, a book. We don’t always use them but it can help you feel grounded if you’re nervous.

REMEMBER Boudoir isn’t about trying to make yourself look like a celebrity; it’s about capturing who you are your soul and femininity on camera. Women (and men) of all shapes and sizes are beautiful, sexy and worth celebrating.

Expert Advice

Choosing Your Wedding Band

5 TIPS FROM CLAIRE BARKER

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR WEDDING BAND! You have booked your venue, photographer, the dress is ordered and your mind is on table plans and flower arrangements. Once you have secured these top priorities and those things that book up years in advance you need to think about your wedding reception arrangements. Just like the most wanted photographers or the most popular wedding venues, the best wedding bands are already taking bookings into 2015! Don’t let the biggest party of your life be an afterthought. My name is Claire and I am the band leader and vocalist from The Claire Barker Band. I am going to offer you a few tips with regard to booking your band, what to look for and what to expect from the people providing your entertainment. I have been a professional singer for 11 years now and have sung at hundreds and hundreds of weddings in that time. I love my job, and the buzz I get from giving couples the night of their life is indescribable.

You can expect to pay between £700 £2000 for a good wedding band. This will vary so much dependent on the number of band members performing, how long they are there for, how long the play for and how long the band has been going. The bands that have been established for a long time can command higher fees. Although it may feel like you are paying out that cash for 2 hours performance, however there is so much more to it than that. Each wedding requires about 8 hour’s time on the day, rehearsal time and cost, expensive equipment, PAT testing, insurance, public liability, fuel and travel costs. Not to mention the years of learning our craft to get to the standard we are at to do this job professionally and to be able to give you an amazing night! The band is the last part of your day and one of the things people will have a lasting memory of. Your wedding band should be the cherry on the top of your perfectly iced wedding cake and something you will remember for the rest of your life!

1 - Shop around – research the band and their work, check them on social media sites and see how active they are and if they have a followers commenting on their work and of course - take in to consideration recommendations from your friends and family. 2 - Do not rely on YouTube or promo videos as evidence! Tricks are common with added recorded vocal and extra music track. Most bands sound very different when performing live. See them live at a public gig or ask to come along to a rehearsal to watch a song or two. 3 – Check if your band has all required documents – particularly PAT testing and public liability insurance. Some venues require some additional documentation, so check with your venue what is required prior booking the band. 4 - Ask for a contract and make sure you are happy with it, purely so that both vendor and you are on the same page. It should state the fee, arrival time, venue, date, finish time, deposit information and all the basics that both parties need to be aware of. 5 - Trust your supplier. In the same way that your florist, photographer and cake maker know exactly what they are doing, so should your band. Sometimes things can run run late. Talk to your band contact about how things usually go. Average start time for first dance and straight into Page 29 set one is 9pm.

Hales Hall Barn

THE GREAT BARN!

Unique Norfolk wedding venue The Great Barn at Hales Hall has scooped a prestigious ‘consumer’ award for ‘Event Team’ recognising the exceptional care and attention that the wedding co-ordinators and their team devote to each and every wedding. Couples who married at the barn in 2013 were invited to give their feedback on their day and the care they received throughout the planning process and the Event Team at The Great Barn were delighted to find out that their happy couples had given feedback making the team the best in the East of England. Managers Nick and Briony De’Ath, who have lengthy experience in the hospitality trade, being owners of The Unthank Arms and The Lawyer, are thrilled that their outstanding team have helped them confirm that their ethos of undivided attention and their ‘can-do’ attitude has helped to make so many couples’ dream days perfect. Nick comments “A wedding for us means that we’ve got to know not just the bride and groom but often their family and close friends too. We host just one wedding each weekend so we’re fortunate to be able to concentrate on each event alone.” The Event Team are now through to the National finals and will find out their fate at an awards ceremony in the New Year. 07767 387062 www.haleshallbarn.co.uk info@haleshallbarn.co.uk

REGAL COUTURE! Who said Regal had to be formal and stuffy? Local makeup artist Paula Daynes and Hair Stylist Laura Hughes wanted to show how a modern take on a usually very formal style could be easily created. Sourcing all their suppliers from local contacts, they drafted in a beautiful mix of dresses, handmade hair accessories, elegant shoes and called a fantastic photography team in to capture the concept. “We were so pleased to have the people involved as the team worked really well on the day and we are just so delighted with the results” says Paula “We didn’t necessarily want to create images that people could copy like for like, it’s a very abstract concept, but to inspire people to take elements through beautiful imagery.” “From day one of organizing this shoot we were both so excited to put together a new idea of which we had not seen in the bridal world for sometime’’ says Laura. ‘’Being a hairstylist means I usually take a back seat on photo shoots but working alongside Paula and seeing our ideas come alive was extremely exciting and rewarding. I hope that people take ideas from these looks and be able to recreate their own version.’’ Paula and Laura x

WINTER WEDDING WONDERLAND OF BRITISH GROWN SHRUBS AND FLOWERS... As the Summer fades into Autumn and the days become a little shorter and darker, the weather a little more extreme and the beautiful Spring and Summer flowers begin to slowly recede from our memories I really enjoy the onset of the winter months. As the chilly and dark nights begin to descend it seems that the surrounding British countryside takes on an almost ethereal feel, a magical transition of crisp fresh, bright and frosty mornings and although it seems so long ago that there were Spring and Summer flowers filling the air with their heavenly scents the late Autumn and Winter months hold a floral beauty of their own kind. Winter flowering shrubs come into their own as the onset of winter approaches and these late flowering shrubs whether they are evergreen or deciduous begin to show their true colours from their dramatic foliage, unusual barks to the most sweetly scented flowers which can enhance any wedding. By incorporating these shrubs into your winter wedding arrangements you create a natural countryside feel bare bark holding onto scented flowers, evergreen shrubs producing fragrant delicate flowers and deciduous shrubs showing off their beautifully coloured barks, together with rosehips, English Ivy carrying their gorgeous seed heads and thistle seed pods all within the winter landscape. There are also British flowers available during the later months from scented Narsissi Paperwhites, Christmas Rose (Hellebores Niger), Anemones, Nerines and white winter flowering heather can all look good in winter weddings together with Clematis cirrhosa var. balearic Jingle Bells and Wisley Cream, Clematis urophylla ‘Winter Beauty’ (these clematis can be cut for arrangements and will last in an oasis arrangement or a vase for 2 to 3 days) all perfect flowers and shrubs for your winter wonderland wedding day...

THE PROPOSAL

PLANNING THE WEDDING

WEDDING THEME

Rob and I met at UEA in 2001 when we were both first- year students, so we had been together for ten years before getting engaged. After so long together I thought we would never get married, so it was the greatest surprise of my life when Rob went down on one knee in September 2012. The spot he chose was a secluded bay on the shore of lake Bohinj in Slovenia, nestled at the foot of grassy hills and snow-capped mountains in a beautiful nature reserve. I was rummaging in my bag for my swim suit when he caught me unawares and simply said ‘Gemma, will you marry me?’ I have never been truly shocked before; in fact I was in such a state of disbelief and in such floods of tears that I failed to notice he had a beautiful hand-made diamond and sapphire ring for me too! It was perfect.

It took a year to plan our wedding and we began planning on the very day of our engagement! After being together for so long we knew each other well enough to make quick decisions about what we wanted, and by the end of our holiday we had decided on the location, food, music and bridal party – even though we had never so much as discussed getting married before!

We held the Reception at the farm where we live in a picturesque meadow by a lake, surrounded by oak trees and wild flowers. I wanted to bring the elements of the meadow from the outside in, so this became our wedding theme. It started at the ceremony where we gave everyone a sunflower to hold, dimmed the lights and had a glitter ball to create the effect of a starlit meadow. We grew the flowers for our floral displays, used recycled card for our invites, incorporated hessian, raffia and natural rustic colours into our decor, and decided that a tipi would be more fitting than a traditional white marquee! We also got creative, making as many things ourselves as we could, all from reclaimed wood found on and around the farm. We made the bar, the top table, many of the decorations and even created a unique ‘tree of cake’ to display our wedding cakes on! Making things ourselves saved money, and was great fun, but most importantly it meant that we got to spend lots of time together literally creating our own hand-made wedding. The only thing that didn’t fit with the theme was the food – we wanted curry as it is our favourite thing to eat, so we chose dishes from Malaysia, Cambodia and India – the countries we are visiting for our honeymoon!

COLOUR SCHEME I love colour, so although everything else was neutral and rustic, we added an injection of colour with bright yellow sunflowers, and gorgeous rich Cadburypurple bridesmaid dresses. To match my Sapphire engagement ring and add a bit of fun I also incorporated blue into my wedding dress with navy netting and navy silk buttons, topped off with funky blue and white shoes and handbag!

FIRST DANCE We didn’t have a first dance as we both have two left feet, so instead we chose some favourite songs for the band to play – including ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ by Nirvana – we had the whole tipi moshing, including my parents!

BEST MOMENT Can I have three? Singing ‘Crazy little thing called love’ by Queen in our ceremony (even the registrar joined in!) Being greeted by two donkeys from Redwings Horse Sanctuary when we arrived at the Reception (it was a wonderful surprise as I had no idea!) Kissing on the jetty by the lake in the pouring rain

WOULD YOU DO ANYTHING DIFERENTLY? We wish we had videoed the whole thing so we could relive it as you forget things so quickly. Page 46

ADVICE AND TIPS It is an old adage that you cannot start planning things too soon, and this is something I would strongly echo. I am a spreadsheet geek and had plans, tasks and budgets set out from the start, which I updated throughout. Rob and I discussed everything and made all the decisions together, but I was certainly the driving force as I love organising things! Giving ourselves lots of time and tackling one bit at a time in a logical order made it a really enjoyable process – nothing was rushed and there was no need to stress! It is your day (both of you, good planning means that on the day you can sit back and enjoy it.

WHICH PART OF THE WEDDING PLANNING DID YOU FIND MOST STRESSFUL? Nothing! In fact we enjoyed it so much we are going to hire out the Rookery Meadow so others can hold their weddings there next year! Couples can do everything themselves or get us to help with as much of the planning and preparations as they like! WEDDING TOASTMASTER AT YOUR SERVICE...

Page 56

Toastmaster Why Employ A Professional Wedding Toastmaster……Can You Afford NOT To? For some of you reading this, a wedding toastmaster is often associated with making announcements to their wedding party, resplendent in a scarlet tailcoat and bringing a touch of finesse to the proceedings. However many of you have not considered approaching a professional wedding toastmaster to help you on your special day. The English Toastmasters Association (ETA) is the largest wedding toastmaster-training provider in the UK. They estimate that less than 10% of couples will employ a wedding toastmaster on their big day. In times of austerity and keeping costs to a minimum, why should you consider such a service? More importantly, what sort of return on your investment can you expect from a wedding toastmaster and what value does it add to the day?

What difference will employing a wedding toastmaster make to you before your big day? In my view, the key to an outstanding wedding day and an exceptional wedding breakfast is the planning that takes place beforehand. A professional wedding toastmaster will leave nothing to chance, are meticulous in their approach and would have ‘walked’ an unfamiliar venue prior to the event. My own quotation to a couple specifically includes a minimum of TWO face-to-face meetings to discuss ‘the day of your dreams’, along with unlimited email and telephone support. The purpose is to clarify what the couple

wish for e.g. managing cost, options for the big day, speech preparation and knowing which key suppliers to liaise with. My role not unlike a conductor of an orchestra is to take on board what the couple wish for and ensure it happens. So hiring a professional wedding toastmaster adds value BEFORE the day itself.

What can you expect from a wedding toastmaster during the day? The wedding day is a joyous occasion where I am neither host nor guest, but play a critical role to ensure the day is conducted well. The couple can expect a personal service from their wedding toastmaster throughout the day. This can (optionally), begin by arriving at the church two hours before to prepare for the groom, both families guests and friends and then the bridal entourage in which the toastmaster will wear black. Alternatively it can begin two hours before at the ceremony venue, again ensuring a most excellent welcome on arrival, stage managing special moments throughout the wedding breakfast and ending with announcing the cutting of the cake and (or) the first dance or even beyond. The wedding toastmaster will have a timetable in the head as well as in written form, to meet your needs on the day. As a fully trained professional wedding toastmaster I am able to work in an informal and formal manner, but some important ceremonial traditions remain important. For example, the way the uniform is worn and presented to others, caring for wedding guests and the couple and always working in a courteous and professional way.

What do you need to know before employing a wedding toastmaster? However you managed to hear about a wedding toastmaster whether through friends, reading this or searching online, it is important you have the services of a professional wedding toastmaster for your most special day. For those reading this who are still unsure about hiring a wedding toastmaster I have devised FIVE questions to pose to your potential toastmaster or research their website online; • Do you belong to a professional toastmaster organization and do you have a Code of Ethics you work within? • How do you keep updated with your toastmaster work? • Where can I find out more about the way you work? • How much do you charge? • Do you carry Public Liability Insurance? In my view, the professional wedding toastmaster enhances the occasion by adding that touch of finesse to the proceedings. However, the biggest advantage is the toastmaster’s willingness at all times to ‘carry the worry bag’ during the day allowing you to relax as a couple and really enjoy the ‘day of your dreams’. I hope this article has been of use to those considering employing the services of a professional wedding toastmaster. As previously stated, it is perfectly possible to have a wedding celebration without using the services of a professional wedding toastmaster. I wonder if you will be one of the 90% or so who decide not to employ a wedding toastmaster……but can you AFFORD NOT to?
