Your tot will learn how to play basketball in a FUN, non�threatening environment!

This program teaches children a variety of basketball skills including: dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding and running/agility. Teamwork is emphasized in this program. Tuesday 6-7pm

(1 hour class) This class is for children under the age of 4. Parents are urged to become involved and interact with the children. This class is designed to show children the basic fundamentals of gymnastics. Tuesday: 2-3pm, Thursday: 2-3pm, Saturday: 10-11am

(1 hour) This class is for young boys (610 years old) that want to continue with gymnastics. Kinder gym is encouraged, but not a requirement. Class includes: vault, rings, floor, and bars.

(1 hour) This class is for children 4-6 years old. Fundamentals of gymnastics are taught. Classes include: balance beam, floor, rings, and games. [3 separate classes]

Tuesday: 3-4pm, Thursday: 3-4pm, Saturday: 11am-12noon

(1 hour) Ages: 6-10. This class is designed for children that want to learn how to tumble but do not want to learn everything about gymnastics. (This is a good class for beginning cheer). Children will learn the fundamentals for tumbling (cartwheels, headstand, forward/ backwards rolls, etc.) [2 separate classes] Thursday 4-5pm, Saturday 1-2pm

Girls Level One:

(1 hour) This class is for children 6-10 years of age. This is a beginners class. Children are taught the fundamentals of gymnastics and are working on their way to level two. Class includes: bars, floor, vault, and balance beam. [3 separate classes]

Tumbling Level Two:

Jammin’ Island Girl HAWAIIAN DANCE at the Rasmussen Center

Students must be registered by February 24th to participate in Summer Recital. Recital, “Oildale Hoedown” will be held on June 5th at 7pm at the Standard School Auditorium. Tickets for the event will cost $3.00.

The art of Tai Chi is misunderstood by many people but now you can learn the complete original true art of Tai Chi including the 4 major ancient weapons for optimum health and for real life self-defense skills. The true art of Tai Chi is a great health art and Tai Chi can be practiced by anyone, like the young, old, healthy, and ill. The true art of Tai Chi is also a great and powerful martial art which uses a secret method called a fa-jing which is only taught to inner-door students. Also many questions will be answered, such as, “Why is Tai Chi practiced so slow?” Also taught: 1) Secret art of Ba-Gua for health and self-defense 2) Authentic Shaolin Kung-Fu. Each week you climb in Riverview's own specialized climbing gym, featuring 16 foot high walls with overhangs, cracks, pockets, edges, pinches, underclings, and slopers.

Amazing Become part of your favorite Fairy Tale! Children will be read a different fairytale each week, create props/crafts and work towards a performance at the end of the week. Lots of fun and creativity are emphasized in this beginning drama class. At the end of the one week session, children get to perform for parents and seniors at the Rasmussen Senior Center. Seniors at the center will be encouraged to volunteer with the children.

Water Safety Instructor Training...

Learn to teach children and adults water safety, survival and swimming skills, and give community water safety presentations. It’s a fun job that will help you develop teaching and leadership skills. Students must be at least 16 years old on or before the final scheduled lesson of this course; complete the Fundamental of Instructor Training course and demonstrate and perform the following swimming skills: 25 yards of front crawl, back crawl, breastroke, elementary backstroke, sidestroke, and 15 yards of butterfly. Students must also maintain position on back for 1 minute in deep water floating or sculling and tread water for 1 minute.
