Music Education Students from across Wayne County came together to attend a North Carolina Symphony music education concert, one of over 40 education concerts performed annually. Each year, the Symphony’s music education programs serve 150,000 students in all 100 North Carolina counties.

Statewide Service Audiences in Tarboro enjoyed a free community concert. The Symphony performs 300 statewide programs each year in communities large and small, and in concert halls, auditoriums, gymnasiums, restaurants, clubs, and outdoor settings.

2 NORTH CAROLINA SYMPHONY

Named in honor of the first music director of the North Carolina Symphony, the Lamar Stringfield Society celebrates those who have embraced the Symphony’s enduring past and promising future by establishing endowed musician’s chairs or special funds with the North Carolina Symphony and also by including the Symphony in their estate plans. The Society’s signature words, “Legacy, Tradition, and Possibilities,” describe the meaning of the Lamar Stringfield Society—leaving your legacy of support for generations of students and audiences to come, honoring the distinguished tradition of the North Carolina Symphony, and demonstrating the possibilities of making a difference in the lives of countless future North Carolinians through music. Building the Symphony Foundation’s endowed funds is vital to ensuring that generations of North Carolinian students and audiences continue to experience the power of live orchestral music. The Foundation endowment provides perpetual funding for the Symphony’s core mission while supporting the innovation necessary for the future. Thank you for investing in the future with your legacy or endowment gift. On behalf of the musicians, students, and audiences of tomorrow, we are deeply grateful for your generosity, vision, and confidence in the North Carolina Symphony’s bright future!
