Children
18 months – 8 years old These classes are designed to introduce children to the basics of dance and encourage their natural ability and enjoyment. There is a clear progression route through our children’s classes to our classes for young people.
Mini Movers A fun weekly class for children aged 18 months – 3 years and their parents/ carers involving dancing, music, stories and props.
Creative Movement
Young people 8 – 16 years old
Our classes for young people aim to develop technical ability whilst enhancing presentation skills and musicality. Students can attend just once a week or for those wishing to do more then a personal training programme can be created.
Children aged 3 – 6 who love to dance can explore musicality and co-ordination in a friendly environment where imagination is encouraged.

The next step for all budding ballet dancers. This class will focus on correct posture as well as creativity, musicality and co-ordination.
Designed to take young dancers from the basic steps to an advanced level of study. Learn a range of different modern styles from street dance to Fosse. This energetic class will build on students’ coordination and natural rhythm.
Adult classes Ballet, Jazz & Contemporary
We believe that dance is an experience to be shared by all. It’s never too late to dance and our adult classes are a great way to keep fit and improve posture and flexibility in a social atmosphere. Classes start from beginners’ level up to advanced.
Dancing for the over 55s Whether you have danced all your life, or simply want to try something different, our gentle exercises and dances will keep you moving in this social and friendly class. Open to anyone over 55 with enthusiasm – no previous experience required.

Attendance
To access any of Northern Ballet Academy classes please complete a registration form and return with the £5 registration fee. Spaces in all classes are issued on a first come first served bases.
Latecomers will not be admitted into class after the first 15 minutes to prevent injury and Classes run as courses and disruption to the class. No students must commit to the refunds are available unless a class each week. During the first class is cancelled. class we will check to make sure that it is at the right level for the What to wear child or young person.
Cost
Children & classes for young people From £5 per class. Fees can be paid in one instalment or by monthly direct debit.
Adult classes £6.50 per class (£5.50 for student card holders).
Northern Ballet Dance Card Buy 10 classes and get 2 free. Valid for all adult classes until the end of the academic year. £65 per card.

Adult classes Classes run on a drop-in basis. Payment for classes is made on arrival but we ask dancers to book a place in the class beforehand by calling 0113 220 8000. Bookings can be made from 10am on Monday mornings for the week. Places in adult classes will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

There is a set uniform (apart from for Mini Movers). We will advise what to wear once the student has been placed on the course.
Adult classes Clothing should be loose and comfortable so that you can move easily. No denim please. Footwear is dependant on each dance style but on the whole we recommend that students have bare feet or flat ballet shoes.
Café Northern Ballet Café is open 8.30am – 8pm Mon – Sat and serves a range of delicious food and hot and cold drinks. All details correct at the time of going to print but may be subject to change.
