TRAVERSE CITY HORSE SHOWS A Journey of Growth and Excellence
As the shows enter their 9th season, the natural beauty and charm of the region continue to captivate riders, spectators, and enthusiasts from around the world. The Traverse City Horse Show (TCHS) has an inspiring history, and its rapid growth has had a lasting impact on the equestrian community. Under the management of Morrissey Management since 2015, this once-regional competition has transformed into North America’s premier summer equestrian destination. Now entering its 9th season, TCHS continues to reach new heights. This summer, TCHS offers over $7 million in prize money, a significant increase from $1.5 million in 2019. With its expanding popularity, TCHS has experienced a surge in attendance and participation. The venue provides approximately 2,000 stalls, accommodating 1,700 to 1,800 horses each week of the now 13-week show— up from four weeks at the beginning. In recent years, TCHS has attracted a significant number of participants, making it a vibrant gathering place for equestrian enthusiasts and professionals seeking a destination to compete and enjoy quality time with family and friends.
As the horse shows grow, the quality of the competition continues to jump out of the ring. TCHS attracts top-level athletes and elite horses every week, making it a preferred choice for barns and riders.

With the success, the shows have also attracted equestrian families choosing to make Northern Michigan home. Notably, the development of Grand Prix North, located across the street from Flintfields Horse Park, which will further enhance the area’s appeal as a picturesque equestrian neighborhood.
