LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
I
t is my pleasure to share with you the 2018 Annual Report. This year marked the beginning of a bold rebranding campaign, a new contract for Jibe Express, the completion of bike/pedestrian connectivity projects, and much more! It also marked my final year as a Jibe board member. After 12 years, including the past seven as president, I am proud of all we have accomplished. Together, we dramatically increased the number and capacity of services to the North Natomas community while also maintaining a strong fiscal balance.

• 2018 ANNUAL REPORT
I want to thank the board and staff of Jibe for all their years of service and friendship. And I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve our community. I remain an engaged resident eager to see Jibe continue to excel.

EXPRESS 2018 was a big year for the newly branded Jibe Express. This comfortable and convenient transportation option for downtown commuters runs Monday through Friday during peak hours and charges a mere two dollars per ride.

SCHOOLS Jibe to School comprises several programs that offer daily encouragement and education to help students develop healthy habits, reduce traffic congestion, and improve air quality. Walk and Bike to School • Scanning technology to log trips at eight schools encouraged participation and produced useful data. • 22% walked or wheeled to school at least weekly. • Throughout the year students were encouraged to participate in seasonal challenges such as Walktober, Polar Bear March, and May is Bike Month.

ADVOCACY Jibe advocates for the transportation needs of North Natomas and the wellness of the people who live and work here. We work in close coordination with employers, residents, schools, and public officials, all to support local initiatives and to power the community forward. Over the years, we've developed many operational strategies that include: • Innovative and cost-effective ways of promoting our programs. • Maintaining a presence in the community through engagement at public events. • Finding common cause with public officials and organizations. • Listening to and soliciting feedback from those we serve.
North Natomas Jibe
• 2018 ANNUAL REPORT
In this way, Jibe has been a powerful force for change by: • Facilitating walking/biking through infrastructure completion and augmentation. • Partnering with schools and educational institutions to promote active transportation options. • Continuing input on development projects: commercial, residential, retail and office. • Naming three North Natomas trails: Jackrabbit, Fisherman’s Lake and Redbud and installed a total of 14 signs at key intersections along the Jackrabbit Trail.
10
And, supporting: • Construction of the Green Line to the Airport light rail project. • Promotion of SacRT Forward Draft Network (RT’s redesign of its transit network). • Expansion of SmaRT Ride on-demand transit service.
REBRAND This past year, North Natomas Transportation Management Association underwent a rebranding process and reemerged as North Natomas Jibe. Why? Our long name and highly detailed logo were hard to use and easy to forget. People knew of our programs, but often didn’t know the organization behind them.
North Natomas Jibe
• 2018 ANNUAL REPORT
With the input and blessing of our board of directors, and advice from marketing professionals and community members, we rolled out a new name and logo. To launch Jibe, give our new brand visibility, and reinforce our role in the community, we created a comprehensive multimedia campaign that showcased residents and local employees "Discovering by Bike,” “Relaxing to Work,” and “Laughing to School."
