North Natomas Bike Connectivity Project December 2008

Summary

The North Natomas Transportation Management Association (TMA) is proud of the job the City of Sacramento has done providing on and off-street bikeways in North Natomas. With its proximity to downtown and the American River Parkway, North Natomas infrastructure provides biking opportunities for recreational and commute riders. The TMA has keen interest in promoting cycling in, out, and around North Natomas. The existing trail system has real potential for expansion to serve our 35,000 residents, but drawbacks exist and must be addressed to achieve our ridership potential. The TMA did an examination of the bikeways in our neighborhoods and has found numerous obstacles that create safety hazards, restrict pleasure and obstruct commuters during their cycling experience. Herein are actual photographs that depict flaws or needed completions to our bikeway system. The TMA hopes to partner with the City of Sacramento to remedy these obstacles and to further promote an increase in ridership in, out, and around North Natomas.
