LEGO Builders Club & Kits (Livestream) (Grades 1-6)

If you love to build, then this club is for you! Join brick expert Christina Collins for a weekly class to learn different building tricks and share your projects. Discover new ways to build with LEGO® bricks as you create and collaborate with fellow builders. Learn specific building tricks – secrets from the masters! Practice scaling building plans, building spheres, and participating in building challenges. Here’s the best part - each week you will receive in your mailbox a LEGO kit with a custom set of bricks or a surprise mini-fig (that’s four unique kits)! In our club meetings, we will share our creations and build together via Zoom! It’s great building fun for all ages! The Zoom link is sent 1 day before the class begins. NMC Children’s Choir (Grades K-9)

Overture (Overture is a musical term meaning “a musical introduction”) Kindergartners - no audition required. Overture is NMCCC’s introductory program for Kindergarten students. This non-auditioned group meets Thursday evenings for an eight-week session. Young singers learn about their voices and learn basic singing techniques in a friendly, nurturing environment.

Prelude is NMCCC’s introductory program for 1 st grade students. This non-auditioned group meets Tuesday evenings for an eight-week session. required. Dolce is NMCCC’s introductory choir for young children with little or no prior musical experience. Singers rehearse Tuesday evenings plus a few Saturday afternoons. Singers build their foundational music skills in a fun, interactive learning environment, learning recognizable folk-based repertoire appropriate for beginning singers. Dolce performs in NMCCC’s Winter and Spring Concerts. Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m. Sept. 14, 2021 to April 26, 2022 Fine Arts Bldg. Rm. 102 Director: Todd Vipond $260 Bel Canto (bell kahn’-toh - Italian for ”beautiful singing”) Primarily 3-4 graders - audition required. Bel Canto includes children with some prior musical experience - who audition directly into the ensemble - and singers who have been promoted from the Dolce Choir. Singers rehearse Tuesday evenings, as well as some Saturday afternoon rehearsals. Bel Canto performs in NMCCC’s Holiday, Winter and Spring Concerts. The NMC Children’s Choir (NMCCC) is a program of exemplary choral music ensembles that develops high levels of artistic, expressive singing for students in Kindergarten through grade nine in the greater Grand Traverse Area. The Children’s Choir exists to artistically enrich the lives of the children, their families, and the community. Participation in the choir is open to all and is a full-school-year commitment, with choral performances presented throughout the academic year. The Choir organization consists of seven ensembles. Tuesdays, 6:45-7:45 p.m. Sept. 14, 2021 to April 26, 2022 Fine Arts Rm. 105 Director: Stephanie Schall-Brazee $290 Cantus (kahn’-toos - Latin for “choir”) Primarily 7-9 graders - audition required. Cantus is NMCCC’s largest and most advanced performing ensemble for young ladies and gentlemen. Singers rehearse Tuesday evenings, as well as monthly Saturday afternoon rehearsals. Cantus performs in NMCCC’s Holiday, Winter and Spring Concerts, at community events throughout the season and, as opportunities present, with guest artists and organizations such as the Traverse Symphony Orchestra. Cantus tours each spring, offering singers unique performance and cultural opportunities. Tuesdays, 6:45-8 p.m. Sept. 14, 2021 to April 26, 2022 Fine Arts Bldg.
