Brittani Brown MIT, Class of 2010 “They really backed me on my passion... and I really appreciated that.”
Why Northwest? A mentor told me to go to the university that would challenge me the most spiritually and academically and I thought Northwest would be able to do that, so that’s why I chose it for my undergrad degree. While in my undergrad degree, I learned more about the Masters in Teaching program and decided to pursue it.
Experience at Northwest I always felt that my professors supported me personally as well as academically. In the teaching arena, I felt like they really backed me on my passion with TESL (Teaching English in a Second Language), and I really appreciated that. Advice To someone who is thinking about doing the program I would ask them to really
think about their investment. The MIT program, the eleven-month program, is a great investment, but you do have to put your whole self into it and be okay with that. I think it’s totally worth it, and I would tell them to do it. To watch Brittani’s complete interview please visit northwestu.edu/video.
Our History Northwest University was founded in
1934. It grew from a three-year to a fouryear academic curriculum in 1948, and a
Liberal Arts division was added in 1955. In 1973 Northwest gained regional academic accreditation and on January 1, 2005 we attained university status. Though we’ve changed over the years, our mission has remained constant: to create a learning
community dedicated to spiritual vitality and academic excellence.
