Paris Motor Show:
Honda 2017 Civic revealed
T
he all new 10th generation Civic will be hitting show rooms in March 2017. Building on the Civics 40 year strong reputation the car stays true to Honda’s original concept for the Civic which was to build a “car for the people, a car for the world”.
Distinctive new design
Being longer, wider and lower than all of its predecessors, the all new Civics striking new design matches sharp taut lines with short overhangs to create the cars high level of aerodynamic efficiency. New larger and wider wheels help to accentuate the cars wide stance and lower centre of gravity, keeping you well planted to the road.
Class leading interior space
The new civic is set to continue with the models reputation for class leading practicality, cabin and cargo space. Boot space remains class-leading in terms of volume (478 litres), as well as ease of access and versatility.
New Turbo Vtec engines to the range
With the new styling comes two brand new Turbo Vtec petrol engines, a 1.0 litre 3 cylinder turbo and a 1.5 4 cylinder turbo which have been specifically developed to bring a more powerful, engaging and efficient driving experience.
next generation infotainment
Honda have started from scratch with an entirely new interior, the result is a simple and uncluttered environment but with new technologies, high-grade materials and a lower seating position to maximise your connection with the car and the road. New technologies will include HondaSensing, Hondas 2nd generation HONDACONNECT infotainment and connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android integration.

New 2o17 Civic Type R
he new Honda Civic Type R prototype was also revealed at the 2016 Mondial de L’Automobile in Paris, it offers a insight into the styling of the nextgeneration Civic Type R which will be officially unveiled in 2017.
T
The sporty large wing on the back is still in place for style and down force while a more understated and tasteful yet sharper rear diffuser and front bumper have been fitted to make it more aggressive than the road going version. It’s easy to see the car has been designed to maximum efficiency and performance in mind with features such as the carbon fiber side skirts which run the length of the wheelbase. The car pictured is sitting on larger 20” black alloys with red detailing which gives the car a gripping stance on the road. It’s believed that the heart of the beast will be a 2.0litre turbo charged 4 cylinder engine pushing out around 340bhp. This could see the 0-62 time dropping to around 5 seconds and should make the new type R the most powerful front wheel drive hot hatchback in the world. Watch this space for more info!

Paris Motor Show: 2017 Micra
Another year, another Paris Motor Show but an all new Nissan Micra! The past few months has seen a series of concepts and teasers for the 2017 model, but the wait is over as it’s unveiled at the 2016 Mondial de l'Automobile.
The car is almost unrecognisable as the design is bought into the future with a far more contemporary design than ever before. The car has been designed to tackle the Corsa and Fiesta head on as Brand CEO Carlos Ghosn says the new car will “raise expectations of what a supermini is capable of. The fifth-generation Micra shows our intent to compete right at the top of Europe’s B-segment market – the largest and most competitive B-segment market in the world.” There’s a promise of class-competitive cabin space and a more connected driving position as the seat, pedals and wheel placement has all been refined to help make the car an extension of yourself. So far we’re unsure of the tech improvements but we do know there’s a new 7” touchscreen media base and nav system in place with Apples CarPlay connectivity.

As for the powertrain just two engines will be on offer during the launch, a 0.9litre 3 cylinder as well as a 1.5litre 4 cylinder. The engines should provide tonnes of poke making it exciting around town and comfortable on the motorway. More engine options are expected to be released later on in the year.

Following the success of the 2016 world car of the year, the soft top MX-5, it only made sense to produce a retractable fastback. The sporty icon will be produced in Mazda’s production plant in Japan and is due to go on sale in the UK around the 4th of March 2017 with an OTR price from £22,195! Designed to offer a new dimension of open-top driving, while staying true to the things that we loved about the previous generation RF MX-5. The new styling gives a really classic 50’s speedster vibe while the sharp lines keep it modern and sleek. The retractable hard top has been developed to enhance cabin comfort and a refined ride while maintaining the agility, performance and driver engagement of the soft top version. The sound absorbing headliner and wheel housings delivery a significantly quieter cabin when the roof’s up, but you can still get that spine tingling throaty burble with the roof down.V “If we consider the convertible model to represent the purist of lightweight sports car appeal, the new Retractable Fastback epitomises a new type of MX-5 that aims to be a compact sports car with a natural charm that everyone will find beautiful”, commented Masashi Nakayama, Mazda MX-5 Chief Designer. Pre order is now open with the car due to land March 4th 2017, contact our sales team now to find out more!

he 2016 iteration of Peugeot’s “off-road monster”, the 2008 DKR, helped Stéphane Peterhansel “stomp” to his 12th Dakar Rally title writes Rowan Horncastle for Top Gear. “For next year’s race, Peugeot Sport has gone back to the drawing board and built an all-new car,” says Horncastle. “The dimensions of the 3008 DKR haven’t changed compared to its predecessor. You may also notice it’s quite squat. That’s to help lower the centre of gravity, something those two spare tyres that are hidden in its cheeks also help with. “Short overhangs at the front and back allow it to bash and crawl up and over pretty much everything it can get its thick tyres onto. “Apparently, the main areas
of improvement over the old car are reliability and driveability. Both crucial elements given the DKR’s bread and butter is to compete in a race that’s 10,000 kilometres long, pretty much flat-out, and takes place in every weather condition Earth can throw at it. “The 3.0-litre mid-mounted V6 twin-turbo diesel engine now delivers greater amounts of crucial torque at lower revs. This wasn’t easily achieved given there’s been a rule change imposing a smaller restrictor on the engine, sapping around 20hp. “Will the 3008 DKR help revive Peugeot’s Dakar dominance of old? Well, they have an off-road dream team of drivers – Stéphane Peterhansel, Carlos Sainz, Sébastien Loeb and Cyril Despres – which helps. But we’ll just have to wait until January to find out for sure.” Top Gear
