All-New HR-V Hybrid Launch Events at Norton Way
T
his month our Honda dealerships were visited by the next-generation HR-V, Honda's popular compact SUV, for two exclusive VIP Launch Events. Both events were hosted by a Honda specialist who gave our customers a guided tour, highlighting the interior and exterior features of the new Hybrid model. As one of only five demonstrators currently in the UK, it was an exclusive opportunity for our customers to explore the new model in person, before it’s official arrival later this year. The all-new HR-V has been engineered with a focus on maximising driver enjoyment and comfort. Compared to its predecessor, the new model has a more rigid body structure and benefits from extensive suspension, steering and braking enhancements. This allows it to respond more precisely to driver inputs, and delivers a more assured, more rewarding and more comfortable driving experience. Offered exclusively as a hybrid, the HR-V has been crafted to be both extremely enjoyable and responsive to drive, as well as highly efficient. The two-motor e:HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) powertrain, which also features in the recently launched Honda Jazz, benefits from advancements made over 20 years of Honda hybrid development. For its application in the HR-V, there have been a number of revisions to counter the additional size and mass of the SUV over the Jazz. Power and torque have been increased to 96kW (131PS) with 253Nm respectively, whilst the final gear ratio has also been lowered for better driving performance.
THE HR-V IS AVAILABLE TO ORDER NOW. CONTACT US TODAY FOR MORE INFORMATION. 2

MAZDA
2022 Mazda CX-5: greater refinement and a new grade structure
A
significantly updated version of Mazda's stylish, spacious and dynamic SUV, the CX-5, goes on sale throughout Europe early next year. The 2022 Mazda CX-5 introduces Mi-Drive drive mode selection, enhanced driving dynamics, new styling and stronger grade differentiation, improvements to on-board packaging and practicality, and an expanded range of safety features. The 2022 CX-5 introduces Mazda Intelligent Drive select (Mi-Drive), which enables the driver to select the most appropriate drive mode with one touch of a switch. Some model grades equipped with i-Activ AWD further benefit from an Off-Road Mode, which makes driving feel more natural on un-made and slippery surfaces. Mazda’s next generation of Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture has now been applied to the 2022 CX-5, further evolving the bodyshell, suspension and seats to enhance ride comfort and reduce fatigue. Road noise has also been greatly reduced, particularly when driving on rough surfaces such as gravel. The front of the 2022 CX-5 features a powerful new, more three-dimensional grille and signature wing design. Both front and rear lamp clusters have also been restyled, and new exterior colour, Zircon Sand, added. Three new model grades incorporate subtle differences to define their distinctive characters: Newground features silver underguard-style treatment to the front and rear bumpers and door garnishes, black door mirrors, lime green accents to the front grille and 17” silver or 19” black machine-cut alloy wheels. The interior combines suede upholstery with lime green stitching and air-conditioning louvres. Sport Black boasts a sporting, gloss black finish to the front grille, signature wing, lower bumper sections, wheel arches, door garnishes and door mirrors, giving the body a taut, athletic look. 19” alloy wheels are finished in black metallic paint, and the front grille incorporates red accents. Red stitching trims the black leather seats, steering wheel, gear shift lever and door panels. GT Sport combines a unified, one-colour exterior which highlights the beauty of Kodo design’s dynamic forms. The brilliant gloss paint of the bright silver 19” alloy wheels enhances the solid metal appearance of the vehicle. The interior features the smooth tactility of Nappa leather and the luxurious textures of genuine woodgrain. 8
The interior of the 2022 CX-5 now benefits from a wireless Qi phone charging tray in the centre console. The two-piece, reversible loadspace floorboard and the tailgate sill are on the same level to aid loading. Newground models also feature a floorboard with a water-resistant side for wet or dirty items. The updated CX-5’s range of i-Activsense safety systems now includes Cruising & Traffic Support (CTS). CTS helps reduce driver fatigue by assisting with accelerator, brake pedal and steering operations when stuck in traffic jams. Finally, the front Adaptive LED Headlights (ALH) have also evolved to give finer control over light distribution. Successive updates and refinements to every aspect of the vehicle have led to the CX-5 growing into a core model accounting for 21 per cent of annual European sales. Details of the full UK 2022 Mazda CX-5 range and pricing will be announced this Autumn.

ŠKODA
Škoda announces pricing for all-new Fabia
Š
koda has launched the all-new fourth generation Fabia, on sale now from £14,905. It will arrive in UK dealerships towards the end of the year, when first customer deliveries take place. The new supermini is based on the VW Group’s MQB-AO platform, alongside the Seat Ibiza and VW Polo, although Škoda engineers have stretched the body to make the Fabia the largest car in its class. At more than 4.0m in length, the new Fabia is 111mm longer than its predecessor. It also benefits from improved handing and refinement as a result of the new underpinnings. Boot space has grown to 380 litres, while interior passage space has also been boosted. In keeping with other recently-launched Škoda models, the Fabia features an all-new interior complete with a central floating touchscreen and digital instruments. The Fabia can be specified with some comfort features that were previously reserved for highertier vehicles, including a heated windscreen and dual-zone climate control with air vents for rearseat passengers. The UK line-up will include S, SE Comfort, SE L and Colour Edition trim levels, while a sporty Monte Carlo variant will follow later. The entry-level S trim features LED headlights, Front Assist, Pedestrian Protection and Lane Assist including road edge detection. It also has DAB, a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system and air conditioning. SE Comfort (from £16,795) adds 15-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights and a two-spoke leather multifunction steering wheel. SE customers will also benefit from rear parking sensors, heightadjustable front seats, adjustable lumbar support in front seats and leather-wrapped handbrake lever and gearshift knob. Colour Edition Fabia’s (from £17,495) are fitted with 16-inch black alloy wheels, privacy glass and door mirrors painted in roof colour. There’s an infotainment system with and eight-inch colour display, a digital instrument cluster and
keyless entry. The range-topping Fabia SE L (from £18,980) includes 16-inch alloy wheels, comfort seats, additional chrome trim, ambient lighting, a 9.2inch infotainment display, climate control and a front centre armrest. Škoda says the SE Comfort and SE L trims will appeal to drivers looking for an" excellent drive and a well-appointed interior that features luxury touches, offering great value-for-money". Colour Edition focuses on style that can be personalised and the latest tech for "gadget-focussed buyers". Five petrol engines will be offered, starting with an entry-level 1.0-litre three-cylinder unit with 65PS or 85PS. Turbocharged versions with 95PS and 110PS will also be available, along with a range-topping 1.5-litre 150PS unit. Škoda claims the new Fabia’s body has been developed to reduce drag which, in conjunction with a new active grille shutter, leads to improved fuel consumption, lower CO2 emissions and also reduced cabin noise. Enhanced driver assistance features, including Travel Assist – the VW Group’s adaptive cruise control and lane keeping package, will be offered on the Fabia for the first time. This can be activated at the touch of a button and combines several assistance systems to automatically adjust the speed of the car and keep it in lane. There is also a blind spot monitoring system that warns the driver of vehicles that are up to 70m away. In keeping with the rest of the Škoda range, the new Fabia implements a variety of ‘Simply Clever’ features, designed to make day-to-day use easier. These include an ice scraper in the fuel filler flap with a tyre tread depth gauge, a car park ticket holder on the A-pillar and an umbrella in the driver’s door.
