The Honda CR-V has been named the Best Hybrid Car up against fierce competition in the prestigious Auto Trader New Car Awards 2023. In its fifth generation, the Honda CR-V is renowned for unparalleled levels of efficiency and refinement. Solely available as a self-charging hybrid, this popular C-segment SUV is extremely popular amongst Honda loyalists.

The Auto Trader New Car accolades are awarded based on the opinions of car owners. Consumers rate cars based on 16 different criteria, from reliability and performance to appearance and running costs. They were also asked about their overall satisfaction with their car and how likely they would be to recommend it to others.

This year, in its seventh year, Auto Trader received feedback from over 220,000 UK car owners contributing to the awards nominations and titles.

Erin Baker, Editorial Director at Auto Trader commented: “A great win here for this popular SUV, famed for its build quality and reliability, with excellent residuals to match. One owner said: ‘The car feels like you’re floating; it’s so smooth to drive, powerful, frugal, with great comfort and well built. Great car.’”

Rebecca Adamson, Head of Automobile at Honda UK collected the award at the ceremony last night in London. Rebecca commented: “We believe that the Honda CR-V is the ideal family car as it offers plenty of practicality, refinement, and quality. We’re so pleased that this is recognised by the people who have real world experience with the car. We’re delighted that the Auto Trader New Car Awards gives consumers a platform to have their say.”

The new Honda CR-V, which will be offered with two different hybrid powertrain options, will go on sale later this year. These are the CR-V e:HEV full hybrid and the CR-V e:PHEV plug-in hybrid. A more dynamic and sporting appearance will be offered by the sixth generation CR-V thanks to contemporary design elements that mirror its exhilarating driving abilities. This generation will build on the famous silhouette of its predecessor.
