MG Cyberster to make world debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed
MG Motor UK has confirmed that its revolutionary new Cyberster sports car will make its global public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2023 and that the EV roadster will underline its performance credentials by taking on the iconic hill climb throughout the festival.
The dramatic, two-seater convertible will be showcased on the main MG stand, allowing festival-goers to take a close look at its leadingedge interior and exterior styling. A second Cyberster will be stationed in the First Glance paddock and will put on a show as it takes to the hill twice a day over the entire event. Guy Pigounakis, Commercial Director for MG Motor UK says:
“We’re excited to return to the Festival of Speed and with a global debut. The Cyberster marks MG’s long-awaited return to sports car production and we’re ready to share what that exciting future looks like with this highperformance, technologically-advanced EV. Two further debuts are planned, both demonstrating MG’s desire to create electric cars that will engage and exhilarate.”
The Cyberster's striking appearance, which draws influence from the company's past, mixes modern design with distinguishing elements that reference MG's long history as a famous producer of thrilling, captivating convertible sports cars.
The company's London-based design team, under the direction of Carl Gotham, came up with the idea for the Kammback tail and scissor doors, as well as the company's signature low nose and curved rear haunches.
A closer look at the new MG HS SUV
MG Motor UK has unveiled images of its new, comprehensively updated HS SUV, revealing a striking new design for the company’s best-selling flagship SUV.
The new HS provides drivers a sharper, more aggressive appearance following a thorough overhaul. The HS is now officially MG's largest and most opulent SUV thanks to new bi-function LED headlights, a striking grille design, and a redesigned front bumper.
At the rear, a new bumper design, revised dual exhaust outlets and LED taillights complete the contemporary styling update, alongside a striking 18’’ diamond cut wheel.
Urban Grey is also now available for the first time within the HS range, as part of an extensive seven colour palette including solid, metallic and tri-coat options.
Guy Pignouakis, Commercial Director at MG UK, comments:
“The MG HS has proved to be very popular with UK customers but we’re further improving the car with a much-enhanced design and two generously-equipped models to choose from that still retain a very strong value proposition for our flagship SUV.”
SE and Trophy models introduced
The new MG HS will now be offered in SE or Trophy specification which have proved popular with UK customers when introduced on the multi award-winning MG4 EV.
A 1.5-litre, turbocharged petrol engine with up to 162PS powers both variants. An optional dual-clutch DCT transmission is available on both SE and Trophy grades in addition to the regular manual gearbox.
The SE specification, which starts at $23,495 and includes air conditioning, satellite navigation, a rear parking camera with sensors, rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry, and a leather steering wheel as standard, features bi-function LED headlights with front and rear sequential indicators for the first time.
In addition to leather upholstery, heated front seats, dual zone climate control, ambient inside lighting, rear privacy glass, and an improved 6-speaker audio system, the Trophy, which starts at £25,995, is also available.
