NISSAN LEAF: UKS BEST CAR FOR CITY DRIVERS

The Nissan LEAF was the first mass-market electric vehicle, debuting in 2010. The secondgeneration LEAF was introduced in 2018 and has now sold well over 500,000 units worldwide. Built at Nissan's Sunderland facility in the north of England, it has won numerous honours, including Driving Electric's Best Used Small Electric Car award and WhichEV's Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as its most recent accolade which is ‘UKs Best Car for City Drivers’ demonstrating how well it survived the test of time.

This year's Auto Trader New Car Awards were decided by a customer panel of over 220,000 UK car owners, and the Nissan LEAF was named the UK's Best Car for City Drivers. "The Nissan Leaf is truly an electric icon, and I'm so pleased to see it get the recognition it deserves," said Erin Baker, Auto Trader's Editorial Director. More than a decade after its launch, it is still a popular choice for many people, owing to its low operating costs, high reliability, and reputation as an easy electric car to use on a daily basis. Drivers have described the Nissan Leaf as easy to drive, nippy and small enough to park in tight spots.

Nissan Motor (GB) Ltd. Managing Director Andrew Humberstone commented: I’m happy to see LEAF recognized and voted for by customers to win this award. We are very proud of LEAF, it was our first electric car when it launched in 2010 and almost 15 years later it is still popular and relevant. With zero tailpipe emissions, intelligent parking aids and its roomy yet compact design, LEAF is an exemplary city car which is versatile enough to perform on longer journeys too where features like ProPILOT thrive. An award like this really means a lot, and we really value that our customers have taken time to vote for LEAF in these prestigious awards.”
