WE ARE VERY PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT MND ASSOCIATION HAS BEEN CHOSEN AS THE NORTON WAY GROUP CHARITY OF THE YEAR FROM SEPTEMBER 2023 TO SEPTEMBER 2024.
For those of you that don’t know, The MND Association focuses on funding research, improving access to care and campaigning for people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. They have over 11,000 members forming a powerful network that provides information and support for people with MND, their families and carers.
They fund and promote research that leads to new understanding and treatments, and brings us closer to a cure. They campaign and raise awareness so the needs of people with MND are recognised and addressed by wider society. People with MND, their families and carers are at the heart of everything they do.
This year we are going to set the aim to raise £10,000 through a range of different fundraising events and we would love for our staff to get involved in this effort.
Motor neurone disease (MND) is a fatal, rapidly progressing neurological condition affecting more than 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time. The disease causes messages from nerves (motor neurones) in the brain and spinal cord that control movement to gradually stop reaching the muscles, leading them to weaken, stiffen and waste.
The result is that people become locked in a failing body, unable to move, talk and eventually breathe. Some may experience changes in thinking and behaviour, with a proportion experiencing a rare form of dementia. MND does not usually affect senses such as sight, hearing
and touch.
MND kills a third of people within a year and more than half within two years of diagnosis. It affects people from all backgrounds and a person’s lifetime risk of developing MND around 1 in 300. Today six people will be diagnosed and six will die from MND. There is no cure.
To help raise funds for MNDA we currently have two confirmed events for the group, the first being a Charity Clay Pidgeon Shooting Day, which will be attended by our corporate partners, suppliers and a few internal teams hosted by our Managing Director, Jason Cranswick.
The second event is Tough Mudder West London, 18th May 2024. The course is at Culden Few, Fawley, Henley-on-Thames, and the team will consist of 10 employees from our group.

(Head of Marketing, Ben Athow, explains why the charity is important to him.)
Ben Athow explains why supporting the
MND Association is important to him after his father-in-law, Mike, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in November 2022. Athow describes the devastating effects of MND and praises the MND Association for the invaluable support they have provided Mike and his family. Athow notes his admiration for fundraisers like Kevin Sinfield who has raised millions for MND research. Athow's wife Jenny has also been fundraising for MND by completing marathons. Now Athow wants to do his part and has proposed the MND Association as Norton Way Group's charity of the year, which Jason has kindly agreed to. Athow expresses gratitude and commitment to fundraising until a cure is found. In summary, Athow explains why finding a cure for MND through charitable support of the MND Association means so much to him and his family.

HONDA CONFIRMS PRICING AND SPECIFICATION FOR THE NEW CR-V
HONDA HAS CONFIRMED THE PRICING AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE NEW CR-V E:HEV AND E:PHEV – FOLLOWING THEIR EUROPEAN UNVEIL IN MAY.
Monday 14th August
Starting from £45,895* OTR or £539 per month**
Later this year, the sixth generation of the CR-V will make its debut with a more aggressive design, class-leading levels of functionality, and great connectivity and comfort. The well-liked C-segment SUV will be offered with a full hybrid (e:HEV) or, for the first time in Europe, a plug-in hybrid (e:PHEV) engine, both of which provide dynamic performance and efficiency throughout the range, and the latter of which offers up to 50 miles of all-electric range.
The new CR-V is wider, longer, and higher than the previous model thanks to its new design; its 40mm larger wheelbase also contributes to the interior's increased spaciousness, including 16mm greater rear legroom and an 18% increase in luggage capacity.
A more aggressive front appearance provides for increased road presence, with the e:HEV and e:PHEV models being distinguished by their respective unique grille designs. While the vertical brake light and turn signal combo at the rear is a clever improvement of the instantly recognised
CR-V taillight design, the narrow headlights and new distinctive daytime running lights together serve to further accentuate this aesthetic appeal.
In addition, this will be the first European model to feature Honda SENSING 360; an omnidirectional safety and driver assist system which removes blind spots around the vehicle. This contributes to collision avoidance and alleviates driver burden, making it the next step in Honda’s bold ambition to bring traffic collision fatalities involving its automobiles and motorcycles to zero by 2050.
“The CR-V is an integral part of Honda’s heritage, and the latest iteration further builds on its excellent reputation. It delivers the performance, comfort and versatility that Honda customers have come to expect,” says Rebecca Adamson, Head of Automobile at Honda UK. “Along with a new sophisticated design, luxurious interior and intuitive technology. The 2024 Mazda3 is rolling into dealerships with some neat updates to keep this popular hatchback feeling fresh. Under the hood, the efficient petrol engines and award-winning exterior design remain the same. Following Mazda's new naming strategy, the range offers 18 models across Prime-Line, Centre-Line, Homura, Exclusive-Line and Takumi grades.
For 2024, the Mazda3 gets a larger 10.25inch central display, up from 8 inches. This allows for clearer navigation maps. Other tech upgrades include wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and Qi wireless charging. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto navigation now shows in the head-up display too. The USB ports are now Type-C for faster charging.
The engine options continue with the unique 186hp e-Skyactiv-X SPCCI or 122hp e-Skyactiv-G. The e-Skyactiv-X features Spark Controlled Compression Ignition, blending diesel's compression ignition with gasoline's spark ignition for broader combustion efficiency. This means more torque and real-world fuel economy. Intake valve timing modifications reduce pumping losses for further fuel savings.
The mild hybrid system's software gives the belt-driven ISG quick torque reactions to flatten the torque curve. So acceleration feels even smoother. The 122hp e-Skyactiv-G offers familiar refinement with mild hybrid optimization. Both engines can be paired to a six-speed manual or automatic on select models.
The 122hp engine comes in all hatchback models: Prime-Line, Centre-Line, Homura, Exclusive-Line and Takumi. Except for Prime-Line, a manual or auto gearbox is offered. The 186hp engine gets an auto box on the Exclusive-Line and Takumi grades.
The stylish Mazda3 Saloon has a 200mm longer profile than the hatch for a unique look. It shares just the windscreen and hood. Offered in Exclusive-Line and Takumi grades with the 186hp engine, the flagship Takumi can be auto-only.
Visually, the 2024 Mazda3 hatch and sedan carry forward the widely praised styling. But the new Homura grade gains black wheels and mirrors. Ceramic Metallic paint joins the color options too.
Inside, the Saloon promotes an executive feel, taking cues from the Vision Coupe concept. Its chrome grille and bumper have a mature, refined look.
For Mazda Managing Director Jeremy Thomson, the updates keep the Mazda3 feeling fresh alongside the new MX-30 EV and CX-60 PHEV. Its popularity with customers highlights its importance in the range. The tech upgrades bring greater connectivity. With five new grades, there's plenty of choice across the hatch and saloon range.
So if you're considering a well-equipped family hatchback with distinctive styling, the 2024 Mazda3 warrants a look. The saloon offers sleek sophistication for compact executive buyers. Test drive one today and experience Mazda's latest efficient powertrains and thoughtful amenities.

With its Engage model, riding comfort and handling agility are well balanced. The exterior offers eye-catching elements including 19-inch alloy wheels with aero covers, heated mirrors with automatic folding capabilities, front fog lamps, rear fog lamps, and LED headlamps with high-beam assist.
Nissan's interior design combines aesthetics and functionality utilising their classic futuristic design language. The roomy, lounge-like interior has exceptional legroom and luxury fabric seats. ARIYA is a comfortable car to sit in and drive thanks to features like Apple Carplay, Android Auto, Navigation, and a virtual personal assistant.

In addition to all the features of the Evolve –such as a panoramic opening sunroof, Intelligent Rear View Mirror, head-up display, poweradjustable centre console and steering column, Bose 10-speaker stereo and temperaturecontrolled front seats – Evolve+ also features 20-inch alloy wheels with aero covers and a rich, Nappa Blue leather seat trim.
