MAZDA CX-60 PHEV: A COMPREHENSIVE LONG-TERM REVIEW
The Mazda CX-60 PHEV is a remarkable vehicle that combines the best of both worlds - the efficiency of a plug-in hybrid and the performance of a petrol engine. In this long-term review, we will delve into the various aspects of the CX-60.
Design and Interior
The Mazda CX-60 PHEV boasts a sleek and stylish design that sets it apart from its competitors in the SUV segment. With its aggressive front grille and muscular lines, it exudes an air of sophistication and elegance. Available in a range of vibrant colours, including the eyecatching Soul Red, the CX-60 is sure to turn heads on the road.
Step inside the CX-60, and you'll be greeted by a spacious and well-designed interior. The wide centre console and ample legroom, ensuring that both the driver and passengers have plenty of space to relax. The front seats, though relatively flat, are comfortable for long journeys, thanks to their air-conditioned feature.
When it comes to practicality, the CX-60 doesn't disappoint. The large boot offers 570 litres of storage space, which is expandable to an impressive 1,726 litres with the rear seats folded down. This impressive capacity makes it an ideal choice for families or those who frequently need to transport bulky items. Furthermore, the inclusion of a three-pin plug socket for rear passengers and a wireless charging pad up front ensures that everyone can stay connected.
Performance and Efficiency
Under the hood, the Mazda CX-60 PHEV is powered by a 2.5-litre petrol engine coupled with an electric motor, resulting in a combined output of 327PS. This combination delivers exhilarating acceleration, allowing the CX-60 to go from 0 to 62mph in just 5.8 seconds. In fact, it can give some sporty cars, like the Ford Focus ST, a run for their money.
Mazda has made significant strides in improving the handling and driving dynamics of
its vehicles. Despite its large dimensions, the CX-60 handles corners with confidence and minimal body roll. The precise steering and welltuned suspension contribute to a composed and enjoyable driving experience, whether on rural routes or urban streets.
Safety and Technology
Safety is at the forefront of Mazda's design philosophy, and the CX-60 PHEV is equipped with a range of advanced safety features. These include brake support with warning, turn-across traffic warning, and driver attention alert. However, Mazda provides options to adjust the sensitivity levels, allowing drivers to find a balance that suits their preferences.
In terms of technology, the CX-60 offers an intuitive infotainment system called Mazda Connect. Accessible through a rotary controller, the system allows for easy navigation and control of various functions, including cruise control, smart brake support, and lane departure warning. Additionally, a range of optional extras, such as wireless charging and 360-degree view cameras, further enhance the CX-60's technological capabilities.
Additional Information
Pricing for the CX-60 PHEV starts at £48,170 for the base model, with additional optional extras available to customize the vehicle to your preferences. The inclusion of convenience and driver assistance packs can further enhance the CX-60's features and capabilities.
It's important to note that the CX-60 PHEV falls into the 8% benefit-in-kind (BIK) bracket, thanks to its electric-only range and low emissions. This makes it an attractive option for company car drivers, as it offers significant tax benefits. Monthly BIK bills for 20% and 40% taxpayers are approximately £102 and £204, respectively.
Overall, the Mazda CX-60 PHEV stands out as a strong competitor in the plug-in hybrid SUV market, offering a compelling combination of style, efficiency, and performance. With its cutting-edge technology and attention to detail, it exemplifies Mazda's commitment to providing an exceptional driving experience.

KIA EV6 GT CHALLENGES FOUR GAMERS TO STAY 'TILTPROOF' IN EXCITING STUNT RIDE
In the latest video to showcase Kia Europe’s partnership with League of Legends EMEA
European Championship (LEC), four gamers experience the high-performance Kia EV6 GT to see if they are ‘tilt-proof.’ In gaming terminology, a ‘tilt’ is the act of getting upset, and ‘tilt-proof’ refers to staying calm when something doesn’t go your way.
In Kia’s Tilt-Proof Challenge, a professional stunt driver drove around a closed track. A series of cameras and sensors measured the gaming content creators’ heart rates and tracked their facial expressions for any signs of a ‘tilt,’ or an increase in emotion. The results can be viewed under the hashtag #tiltproofchallenge.
No player able to avoid a ‘tilt’
In a two-minute video, streamers @Werlyb, @ Carmensandwich, @Broeki and @Romainjacques are introduced, followed by the vehicle and the term ‘tilt proof.’ Dynamic driving shots of the EV6 GT cut with gasps, screams, and heartbeats from the players create a high-energy atmosphere which is further emphasised by dramatic music. Medic, a former doctor turned caster for LEC, provides the moderation, explaining how the challenge works and calling the players out for their ‘tilts.’
Fun challenge unites gaming culture with Kia EV6 GT
The ability to stay ‘tilt-proof’ is part of gaming culture. In a rage-inducing game like League of Legends, it becomes harder for players to keep their cool. To encourage good sportsmanship,’ the game introduced a system where players can honour their teammates for being 'tilt-proof.’ For every level-up in their honour rank, players can receive in-game rewards. Receiving an honour for being 'tilt-proof' is not only a sign of good sportsmanship, but also very rewarding for the tilt-proof players themselves.

AWARDS CB500X
Honda UK Motorcycles wins another hat-trick of awards with the all new XL750 Transalp, ADV350 and CB500X at the 2023 MCN Awards
The brand new XL750 Transalp only recently arrived in dealers and has already proven to be hugely popular, with a large forward order list for the remainder of the year. Commenting on the Best Adventure Sub-1000cc award, MCN said:
“Equipped with a light chassis, a punchy parallel twin, riding aids and a colour TFT display that allows for connectivity, the Transalp offers a full package for very sensible money.
From blasting up and down the smooth tarmac curves on the side of Mount Etna to tackling sodden green lanes in the heart of Lincolnshire, it performs admirably. The Transalp really is a do-it-all machine, that offers a broad range of capability at a sensible price.”
Complimenting an already extensive scooter range, the ADV350 mixes the tough adventure style of its X-ADV sibling with a rugged chassis specification that includes tubular steel frame, 37mm USD forks and remote reservoir rear shocks. The screen is height adjustable, there’s room for two full-face helmets under the seat and a USB Type-C socket in the glovebox. An LCD dash integrates the Honda Smartphone Voice Control system, while Smart Key operation adds day-to-day riding convenience. On the Best Urban Petrol award for the ADV350, MCN stated:
“A bike that is unashamedly unique in its outlook, the ADV350 makes for a practical urban bike that delivers genuine big-bike handling and braking performance with a level of road presence that brings effortless confidence. Developing such

“Scooping the award for a remarkable fifth year running, Honda’s CB500X remains the best do-it-all for those on a restricted licence. Or even those who hold a full licence and just want an easy-going machine that is economical, bags of fun, sweet handling and comfortable for either a daily commute or weekend adventure away. Effortlessly versatile and well-priced, it is no wonder the CB500X is such a popular model in Honda’s range.”

It’s great to see both the ADV350 and CB500X winning on multiple occasions, the latter now winning for the fifth consecutive year showing how versatile a product it is for both new and existing riders. But to see the Transalp return to our product line up and take the honours in such a competitive sector, is hugely satisfying!”
