azda’s highly acclaimed Mazda6 Saloon and Tourer models have been upgraded with a host of updates designed to enhance driving enjoyment and improve refinement. Highlights across the full Saloon and Tourer range include technology updates, interior improvements and the introduction of G-Vectoring Control. Inside, while both models’ dimensions remain exactly the same, there have been material upgrades, while a more generous level of standard equipment has been applied to the higher SE-L Nav and Sport Nav trims. Every cars’ city braking technology now recognises pedestrians, too. Designed to enhance driving enjoyment whilst also improving refinement, these updates include interior improvements such as auto-power folding door mirrors from SE-L Nav, a heated steering wheel and colour active driving display on Sport Nav grades and the introduction of G-Vectoring Already regarded as one of the best-handling and most engaging cars in its segment, the

Mazda6’s dynamic setup has been refined with the introduction of G-Vectoring Control (GVC), the first application of Mazda’s new series of SKYACTIV-VEHICLE DYNAMICS technology. This ingenious and largely imperceptible system improves driver confidence, passenger comfort and vehicle handling via incredibly subtle manipulation of the powertrain. By monitoring steering and throttle position when you enter a corner under power, GVC momentarily reduces the amount of torque delivered to the front wheels, thereby transferring a fraction more weight onto the front axle which allows the front wheels to turn more precisely. This increase in engine refinement is complimented by a comprehensive improvement in sound insulation, including the adoption of upgraded door seals, tighter tolerances between panels and sound deadening materials added to the underbody, rear console, headliner and doors, while laminated front side windows further suppress wind noise. The Mazda6 is available in eight colours including Mazda’s new Machine

Grey Metallic, which having starred on the all-new Mazda MX-5 RF at the 2016 New York Motor Show, goes into production on the Mazda6. All 6s now come with a new leather steering wheel and upgraded dash trims, which, together with Mazda’s continued competence at creating slick, substantial switchgear and one of the class’s best infotainment systems when it comes to ease of use, makes the 6’s cabin an even nicer place in which to spend time than it was before. Overall it’s a better car than before, then, and offers a more stylish approach than many of its estate rivals. With cars arriving this Autumn and pricing remaining unchanged, the Mazda6’s enhancements come at no extra cost and are set to reaffirm Mazda’s position at the forefront of this competitive sector. MMMMMMMM!!!!! A utomotive performance specialists BBR, have taken the already impressive MX-5 and added power & performance, presenting figures of up to 225bhp from the tiny roadster. The ‘Super 200’ package is a series of upgrades to the 2.0-litre engine, taking it from 160bhp to 205bhp, or even up to 225bhp if you’re willing to let the tuners run wild. The standard ‘super 200’ package also gains 35Nm of torque, and changes the dynamics of the engine to go past 5,500rpm, offering an intense, exhilarating performance all the way to 7,150rpm. The upgrade consists of a new billet steel intake, upgraded valve springs and retainers, a cold air intake system and a bespoke stainless steel exhaust manifold. It also benefits from BBR’s own ‘StarChip’ ECU software package, which alters fuel, ignition and cam timing calibration. The end result changes the standard 7.3 seconds 0-60mph, to just 5.7 seconds. But that’s not all. Customers after even more performance can opt for the ‘Super 200+’ package, which upgrades the exhaust once again to offer a barnstorming 214bhp from the 2.0-litre engine. Still not enough? BBR can supply a gasflowed cylinder head, which ups power even further. The company says it’s recorded over 225bhp from this combination of components. MAZDA 3 FACELIFT IS Mazda has launched the facelifted 3, which features mechanical upgrades and a host of interior and exterior tweaks.

The 3's front end gains an updated version of the corporate Mazda face to bring its look closer in line with that of the CX-3 and other models in the range. The headlights have a more squared-off design and are more smoothly incorporated into the chrome grille surround, as well as now being available as adaptive LED units. Revised bumper details have also been added. Minor changes to the rear bumper have been made on the hatchback and the door mirrors have been tweaked to include wrap-around indicators. There are also two new colours, including the first production use of the grey paint featured on the MX-5 RF at its debut, and new 18in alloy wheels on Sport Nav spec. Under its revised skin, the facelifted 3 features Mazda's G-Vectoring Control (GVC), which aims to improve stability and comfort over long distances. GVC uses torque changes from the engine to put extra weight over the front tyres when turning in to a corner. Mazda 8

S FINALLY REVEALED claims this reduces the need for the driver to make steering corrections, as well as improving comfort for passengers by reducing the lateral forces acting upon them. The new system is part of Mazda’s ‘Jinba Ittai’ or ‘rider and horse as one body’ mantra, under which Mazda aims to improve the comfort of its models – something the 3 and 6 have been criticised for in previous Autocar reviews. Tweaks to the suspension are also claimed to improve comfort and Mazda's Natural Sound Smoother (NSS) system aims to reduce the knock noise of louder diesel engines. The handbrake has been replaced by an electric parking brake, in line with many other cars across the industry. Elsewhere inside, there's redesigned dashboard trim, switch panels and door handle bezels, as well as more thorough soundproofing throughout. The head-up display

now has a full colour display, too. The current-generation 3 was introduced in the UK in 2014, and the all-new 3 isn't due until 2018, so the current model's mid-life refresh paves the way for the next-generation car. The facelifted 3 goes on sale on 1 October and will be priced from £17,595. READ THE ARTICLE ONLINE

Luna Animal Rescue

In July, sadly Norton Way lost one of our long standing Sales executives Mr Roy Hurwitz. His wonderful personality, and laugh will be greatly missed by all of us here at Norton Way, and sadly this news, also came the fact that Roy left behind two beloved dogs- Teddy and Gypsy, both who needed to be rehomed. At our time of need, a fantastic local charity called Luna literally came to our rescue and helped get Teddy and Gypsy safe and comfortable. This Charity has worked closely with Roy’s family and friends to find new homes for the dogs, and provided the greatest comfort to us all, knowing they were ok.

ABOUT THE CHARITY

Luna Animal Rescue was founded by Louise Jest and Natalie Howe in October 2013. They had both been involved in rescue before and decided to start Luna to help the many UK dogs that find themselves needing to be re-homed. Great Britain is a nation of animal lovers but there are still many unwanted dogs and puppies being left in UK pounds and being euthanised every day, Luna are trying to make a difference by saving these poor dogs on death row and re-homing them as loving family pets. Luna are a voluntary non-profit organisation, with a non-destruct policy ( we will not put down a healthy well balanced

animal), all dogs that are re-homed through the charity have a lifetime of rescue backup, whether it is behavioural issues or a change of circumstances they offer help and guidance. All dogs are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, flea treated and vet checked.

THE CHARITY’S WORK

Luna Animal Rescue became a registered charity in October 2015, and are based in the South East of England. They work together to save dogs in UK pounds and from local people that need to re-home their pets for whatever reason. Norton Way have been raising money for Luna in honour of Roy’s memory, collecting over £510.00 for the Charity so far. We are also happy to let those who knew them that so far Gypsy and Teddy have adapted well and are doing ok!
