PEUGEOT 308 BEST ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN AUTO EXPRESS CLICK HERE TO READ MORE

Peugeot has been victorious at the Auto Express New Car Awards, after winning ‘Best Advertising Award’ with its ‘Confidence. Built In’ promoting the Peugeot 308. The advertising campaign combined- TV/ Radio/ Press/ Outdoor/ Social Media/ Digital campaign and was created by Peugeot UK to promote the confidence experienced by its customers. The campaign centred on a core ‘Built In’ message which encouraged potential customers to take a ‘closer look’. The centre-piece of the campaign was a new TV commercial, filmed in Glencoe and Glasgow and produced by the UK team, to specifically address local requirements for customers buying a 308. Mark Pickles, Marketing director at Peugeot UK, commented: “This is fantastic news. Everyone at Peugeot knew that the 308 is a product absolutely worthy of serious consideration – due to its many attributes; high build quality, competitive specification and superb driving credentials. The advert was designed to challenge the view for customers to want to find out for themselves. We took pleasure formulating this UK campaign, confident in the excellence of our products and the detail contained within, so to receive this accolade at the Auto Express New Car Awards vindicates all our hard work and for the 308 that continues to reap success, having won the prestigious European Car of the Year award in 2014.” Steve Fowler, Editor-in-Chief at Auto Express, said: “The Peugeot 308: ‘Confidence. Built In’ campaign has impressed us all - our readers like it enough to name it one of the best three car adverts of the past year and our panel of experts agreed, naming it the very best of those put into the final by our readers. Not only is it a stylish,

watchable ad, it cleverly works across different media and gets the message across superbly.” This campaign was also the launch of Peugeot UK’s new creative format of the ‘Built In’ tagline, which aims to provide a consistent means of putting across the strengths of each vehicle. Accompanying Outdoor, Digital, Radio and Press campaigns Peugeot challenged prospective buyers to share the confidence it has for the 308 by taking a closer look with a 48 Hour Test Drive, giving customers the opportunity to drive and become more acquainted with the 308s numerous attributes, and to see for themselves why it is a compelling car to drive. The overall vision for the ‘Confidence. Built In.’ campaign, which spanned all major communication channels, was to challenge prospective buyers on how they choose their next car. By highlighting the key product attributes of 308, Peugeot demonstrated that the beauty of the 308 was also in the detail. With stunning driving footage and new photography it demonstrated that the Peugeot 308 is a car which marries image with detail. The campaign first ran from May until the end of June, and will now be reprised later in the autumn to maximise awareness following the success with this ‘Best Advertising Campaign Award’.

The upgraded new 2008 SUV “uses engine technology and components that featured in the 208 hatchback, but with raised suspension and an estate car body.” These new upgrades, the magazine states, help broaden the car’s appeal. The new 2008 SUV now has more of a rugged stance, and “top versions come with Grip Control – a sophisticated traction control system which helps the new 2008 SUV get out of all but the most difficult off-road situations”. “Peugeot’s unique i-Cockpit, with its compact steering wheel and raised instruments continues and, although it feels like a compact car, it wouldn’t be cramped with four adults inside.” - Fleet News

The rear, in particular around the tailgate and C-pillar, has some very bold straight lines, creating an impression of solidity,” writes Simon Harris. “The new 3008 SUV is longer than its predecessor, with a longer wheelbase, allowing greater interior space for passengers as well as more luggage space.” - Fleet News

INDUSTRY CHANGES TO BE AWARE OF A number of key changes will shortly be coming into effect, here is our breakdown: Vehicle Tax Changes for 2017 The way Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) is calculated is changing for some vehicles registered from 1st April 2017. All vehicles registered before this date will not be affected.

The Basics The changes were announced by the Chancellor in the 2015 budget, which stated the first vehicle licence will be calculated on the vehicle’s CO₂ emissions. The majority of vehicles will then move to a standard rate of £140 annually from the second licence. Cars with zero emissions will not pay the standard rate of vehicle tax. However, if a car’s list price is over £40,000 at first registration, the customer will pay the additional rate of £310 for five years after the end of the first licence. Alternative fuel vehicles will continue to receive a £10 reduction on vehicle tax rates.

CHARGING FOR CHARGING

CLICK HERE FOR MORE DETAILS ON CHARGING FOR CHARGING

After five years of Electric Highway providing charging for free, they are moving to a ‘charging for charging’ model. When the company began in July 2011, they noticed a bit of a chicken and egg situation; of people reluctant to buy electric cars because of the lack of charging facilities, and on the other hand nobody wanting to build facilities because of the limited number of electric cars. This is when Electric Highway jumped in to help and start the electric car revolution in Britain. Today, there are over 40 models to choose from and 64,000 plug-ins on the roads which can use almost 300 fast charging points provided by the Electric Highway. The company has worked out they are now delivering two million miles of clean driving each month, which is all powered by wind and sun. To keep up with demand, Electric Highway needs to build more electric pumps which is the main reason for the change. They have decided on a simple flat fee of £5 for a 20 minute fast charge.

How will it work? • Download the App - You will need this app to use the pumps once ‘charging for charging’ starts • Check the App - It will include a live feed of the entire network- location of pumps, if they are in use and track the progress with the charging countdown • Hardware Update - Each pump will require a new upgrade which should be completed by 5th August 2016 • Removal of charging card- Once the work is complete the entire network will be useable through the Electric Highway app, meaning you will no longer need your swipe card. Don't Forget The Electric Highway will still be free to use for Ecotricity Energy Customers. You’ll not only get free use of the Electric Highway, but also a discount on your energy just for having an electric car. You can sign up here

REMEMBER FOOTWORKS DANCE TEAM?

THEY WON!!

The extremely talented Footworks dance team flew to Jersey in June to represent England in the Dance World Cup 2016! They are a supremely talented team and we knew that they would do great, and they did! They are back and they are Gold Medalists and England won the World Cup!!!! Not only did they contribute with their performances to gain valuable points to help England win the World Cup but their trio of performers also won gold medals for their musical theatre dance. They were already champions just by taking part and to come away with World Cup Medals is just amazing! They really did us at Norton Way Peugeot proud.

Let’s hear from one of the Team Members:

My name is Paige and I am thirteen years old. This year I will be competing in the Dance world cup in jersey, I will be representing team England with my dance school Footwork’s school of dance. I have been dancing with Footwork’s since I was three years old, during my time at Footwork’s I have danced in many competitions including the All England Regional finals, where we were winners two comps in a row! I have also competed many times in London’s West End in the All England National finals where I was runner up. This year will be the first time that Footwork’s have entered the Dance World Cup and we are very excited to be representing our country. We are very lucky to have been chosen as hundreds of dance schools entered this competition. I atm most excited about performing in a big arena in front of thousands of people; this will also be streamed for people at home to watch. I would like to say a big thank you to all the people at Norton way Peugeot for sponsoring Footwork’s School of Dance and for making this opportunity possible. 13
