The Peugeot Expert has been updated, giving customers a compelling and competitive product range with exceptional capabilities and efficiencies, an attractive character with the latest Brand identity and a robust and modern design.

The vehicle is built on a brand new platform, which benefits from a number of advantages, exhibiting compactness, weight reduction, versatility and combines the most efficient engine options; which achieve as little as 133g/ km of CO2. “The EMP2 platform, tailored to the constraints of a utility vehicle, again demonstrates its efficiency and modularity with the Peugeot Expert,” says: Rémi Seimpere, Peugeot Expert Chief Engineer.

The expert will also introduce a number of innovative features into the segment such as hands-free sliding side doors, Active Safety Brake system, rear-view camera with VisioPark and connect 3D navigation.

The all-new Expert can carry a maximum load of 1400kg and is available in three body lengths, from the new compact version at just 4.60m up to 5.30m. SUV with unique sensations The compact SUV, symbolises key aspects of intuitiveness, agility and safety. Peugeot’s great Grip Control system allows adaptive traction in low grip conditions.

The vehicle debuted at the NEX Commercial Vehicle Show on the 26th April.

PureTech Petrol Engines: 300,000th One Produced.

Teams at Peugeot’s Française de Mécanique have assembled the site’s 300,000th Turbo PureTech three-cylinder petrol engine.

The engine is fitted on the New 208, 308, 2008 and 3008. Its stand out benefit is cutting fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by an average of 18% compared with naturally aspirated EP engine, and is already the market’s top performer. The smaller, lighter Turbo PureTech petrol engine was named Engine of the Year in the 1L to 1.4L category at the International Engine of the Year Awards, thanks to its remarkable level of driving pleasure and performance for a model in its cylinder class. The accolade recognises both the technology and the performance of this market-leading powerplant.

The Production of the Turbo PureTech engine began in March 2014 at the Française de Mécanique plant and a total of 6,450 units are now manufactured weekly by four teams. Commenting, Denis Martin, Operational Director Europe, said: “Our PureTech petrol engine is a key factor in the success of the models it is fitted on. Given current trends in the petrol/diesel model mix, the performance of this excellent three cylinder engine gives PSA a competitive edge that our front-line teams can leverage to win market share.”

Bright Future for Peugeot Peugeot are part of Groupe PSA, which are a French multinational manufacturer of automobiles and motorcycles sold under the Peugeot, Citroen and DS Automobiles brands.

The group have set out a goal to launch hybrids, EVs and a pick-up truck by 2021, launching a new car boom.

PSA boss Carlos Tavares announced a masterplan to bring 26 new global cars by 2021, including seven plug-in hybrids and four pureelectric vehicles within the next five years. The group also are planning a 10-year programme to return to the United States market. It is expected Peugeot will launch 9 of the 26 vehicles.

PSA’s Chairman Carlos Tavares, comments on the new direction: “We have turned the company around sooner than we anticipated,” “We have direction, we have a spine and we know where we’re going. We now have a company that is the master of its own destiny.”

The new-model offensive does not extended to new platforms, well-placed sources have revealed that all new releases will be based on the chassis that currently underpin existing Peugeots. This architecture is also compatible with plug-in hybrid technology and pure-electric set-ups, potentially allowing PSA to build alternatively fuelled versions of cars along the same production lines as their petrol and diesel stablemates.

PSA will also include autonomous technology as part of its new push, with the company expecting to introduce a ‘traffic jam assist’ function by 2018, ‘hands-off’ autonomy by 2020 and ‘eyes-off’ functionality by 2021.
