The Vitara was matched up with competition from four different brands and sent on a number of different testing tasks. Not only did the Vitara take the prize, it also had the accomplishment of being the lowest price derivative out of the 5 models. The Sunday Times comments: “Squint — hard — and you might mistake the new Vitara for a Range Rover Evoque. That’s because Suzuki’s crossover has morphed from a cheap and cheerful off-roader into a primped, well-equipped vehicle that’s top of its class. This has a lot to do with the low starting price.”

TV and Suzuki GB have announced a unique two-year deal with Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, which will included themed commercials, sponsorship of the program, licensing rights and multiplatform activation. Suzuki will also be the first brand to take advantage of ITV commercials new-formed division ITV Adventures, who will create bespoke branded content for Suzuki, which will be produced by ITN productions. The commercials feature Takeaway hosts Ant and Dec in a

series of adverts that launched last month, and will continue throughout the Saturday Night Takeaway series. Suzuki will also feature in the brands nationwide roadshow, social media and online. The performance flagship of the swift range won the ‘Best Buy Hot Hatch for less than £15,000’ after fighting off strong competition from its sector. The Swift Sport was first introduced in January 2012 and with a high standard specification that includes Satellite Navigation, DAB radio, USB connection and auto air conditioning. The vehicle remains considerably cheaper than its competitors at just £13,999 for three door and £14,499 for the five door model. Jim Holder, What Car?
