Paris Motor Show:
Honda 2017 Civic revealed
he all new 10th generation Civic will be hitting show rooms in March 2017. Building on the Civics 40 year strong reputation the car stays true to Honda’s original concept for the Civic which was to build a “car for the people, a car for the world”.
T
next generation infotainment
Honda have started from scratch with an entirely new interior, the result is a simple and uncluttered environment but with new technologies, high-grade materials and a lower seating position to maximise your connection with the car and the road. New technologies will include HondaSensing, Hondas 2nd generation HONDACONNECT infotainment and connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android integration.
Distinctive new design
Being longer, wider and lower than all of its predecessors, the all new Civics striking new design matches sharp taut lines with short overhangs to create the cars high level of aerodynamic efficiency. New larger and wider wheels help to accentuate the cars wide stance and lower centre of gravity, keeping you well planted to the road.
Class leading interior space
The new civic is set to continue with the models reputation for class leading practicality, cabin and cargo space. Boot space remains class-leading in terms of volume (478 litres), as well as ease of access and versatility.

New 2o1
he new Honda Civic Type R prototype was also revealed at the 2016 Mondial de L’Automobile in Paris, it offers a insight into the styling of the nextgeneration Civic Type R which will be officially unveiled in 2017. The sporty large wing on the back is still in place for style and down force while a more understated and tasteful yet sharper rear diffuser and front bumper have been fitted to make it more aggressive than the road going version. It’s easy to see the car has been designed to maximum efficiency and performance in mind with features such as the carbon fiber side skirts which run the
length of the wheelbase. The car pictured is sitting on larger 20” black alloys with red detailing which gives the car a gripping stance on the road. It’s believed that the heart of the beast will be a 2.0litre turbo charged 4 cylinder engine pushing out around 340bhp. This could see the 0-62 time dropping to around 5 seconds and should make the new type R the most powerful front wheel drive hot hatchback in the world. Watch this space for more info!

ESTORATION
Currently in condition unsurprising for its age, they wish to restore the car tastefully with the help of Le Riche Automobile Restorers in Jersey ready to go on display at the Goodwood festival of speed next year. Philip Crossman, managing director of Honda UK, commented: “The engine still works perfectly, as you would expect from a Honda, so we don’t need to engage a complete overhaul of the car. The interior needs looking at as do parts of the bodywork – in short it simply needs some loving care and attention, which we are trusting to Le Riche, to get it back to its former glory.” Back in its day the S800’s revvy 800cc engine was capable of reaching speeds of 100mph while reving right up to 10,000RPM thanks to help from Hondas successful motorcycle division. After almost 12,000 cars were produced, production ceased in 1970. Honda didn’t produce another sportster until the release of the legendary s2000. We look forward to seeing this little beauty at the Festival of Speed next year!

NSX Hum
W
ith a team of expert engineers and technicians, Honda pulled off the phenomenal showcase of the Honda NSX – a hybrid supercar which combines advanced GPS visualisations equipment to recreate one of the most famous “Hummingbird” geoglyph – a creative large artwork that can only be viewed in full from a high altitude.
Honda went above and beyond, and supersized the artwork more than 10 times the size of the original Hummingbird, which measured 965 meters end to end when producing the “NSX Driving Drawing” online video. The design integrates more than 30 hairpin turns, making technology within the Honda NSX crucial. Executing tight turns, slowing the inner wheel in sharp corners and increasing the drive on the outer wheel to increase acceleration are techniques which were essential to achieving 8

the precision cornering required to recreate the earthwork. High effort was placed upon creating a GPS with exceptional accuracy and tracking to enable the NSX driver to follow the design accurately. As the car sped, twisted and curved along the planned route, its GPS signal was tracked on a real time monitor, revealing the extraordinary artwork to the staging team. Using drones, camera canes and high tech equipment, we can congratulate Honda for impressively replicating the
Hummingbird Nazca desert geoglyph. The video represents the powerful performance and technical innovation of the all new NSX. The power comes from a mid-mounted twin turbocharged V6 engine, corresponding with a nine speed dual clutch transmission and a direct drive motor that supplements the engine with instant torque response. The Honda NSX is a truly a thrilling supercar which features world first material applications. 9

2017 Honda CR-V
price, specs and a release date! WHAT WE KNOW NOW
The all new Re-imagined 2017 CR-V has been revealed, set to rival the likes of the new Land Rover Discovery sport at some time during 2017. The overall design has been more of an evolution than a new direction as Honda are keen to avoid putting off loyal customers while keeping at the forefront of technology and style. The car photo’d we should mention is the car set to be released in the US but the changes are thought to be very minimal and virtually unchanged. The new model will be larger than the outgoing model providing a generous amount of interior space for the passengers with a better ride quality thanks to a longer wheel base.
DESIGN
Where design is concerned the front end has been reworked creating a far more aerodynamic shape while retaining the sophisticated wing shaped grille. Move around to the back and the tail lights have stretched onto the tailgate which gives the rear end a far smoother overall look. Move inside of the car and the CR-V now boasts the best rear seat legroom in its class with upgraded materials and 10

a new soft touch instrument panel which will be Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible. Lets get to the guts of the car. It’s been placed on a new chassis which is stiffer and longer than the previous model which should improve response and comfort, while for the moment remaining a five seater.
DRIVETRAIN
As before, a choice of two and four-wheel drive will be offered and a choice of manual or auto gear box but we don’t have any info on what engines will be released this side of the Atlantic. It’s likely that the 1.5-litre petrol recently announced for the Civic will be an option. Prices for the CR-V’s aren’t expected to change too much meaning entry level CR-V’s will begin around the £23,000 mark while the top of the range cars will rise to about £36,500.
