We have a brand new dealership opening in February 2015, GWR Kia! It will become the flagship dealership for Kia Motors UK ltd and will be located on the Great West Road, Brentford, West London. GWR Kia will add to our range of dealerships in London, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. It will become the ninth dealership in our group, adding to our manufacturer list of Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Suzuki, Peugeot and Skoda. “We’re excited about the opening of this UK flagship dealership,” said Paul Philpott CEO and President at Kia. “This is a highly prominent site, which sees over 27 million vehicles pass by each year. We feel that this is the next step in raising the profile of Kia and look forward to the doors opening in Early 2016 to new and existing Kia customers in West London.”
The Dealership GWR Kia will be a 41,000sqft dealership spilt into four floors including a multi- level showroom. The highly visible site will take centre stage on the M4 elevated section, which is one of Britain’s busiest commuter roads. Main dealership features will include a stunning top floor glass façade with 17 by 4 metre LED display screen. The ground floor will be over 750m² of space and host the entire Kia product range, 2

for customers to view and test drive. Used cars will be housed on the 450m² first floor showroom. The lower ground floor will boast seven service and two MOT bays, with space to expand to 15 bays. The dealership will aim to provide the customers with the ultimate Kia experience through the use of the latest technology- including 3D headsets, iPad customer experience area and NFC (near field communication). GWR Kia is being built with the aim of achieving a high level of sustainability. The dealership will include comprising air source heat pumps, roof mounted solar PVs that will deliver a reduction in CO² emissions of over 30% compared to building - David Grainger, Managing Director of Norton Way Motors Ltd regulations. It’s not uncommon to hear drivers complain that their own fuel economy fails to match those quoted by their car’s manufacturer when they brought the vehicle. But after the MPG Marathon, Honda drivers can trust the results given by the manufacturer. 6

What is the MPG Marathon? The MPG Marathon challenge is an independently judged fuel economy challenge that is organised by Fleet World magazine. The competitors are given checkpoints and then allowed freedom in finding the most efficient route between them, this means careful planning is vital to avoid congestion in hot spots. This year the competition consisted of 23 different teams. Topping the league for Honda were Paul Clifton, BBC transport correspondent for Southern England, and former police inspector, Shaun Cronin, who led the CR-V to victory. Other astonishing results include fifth- place finishers, Rory Carmichael and Eloise Peabody- Rolf, who both were just 17 years old and had passed their driving tests just weeks before. Eloise who hadn’t driven on a motorway 10 days before the event, commentated “I’d like to think that we’ve shown you don’t need to be a geek or a professional driver to get good MPG, and that age doesn’t matter- it’s more important to have the right car, right approach and attitude. The results at the MPG Marathon capped off a fantastic year for the 1.6 i-DTEC engine. Earlier in June, the engine set an official Guinness World Record for fuel economy, averaging an incredible 100.31mpg over 25 days and 8,387 miles all in a standard Civic Tourer 1.6 i-DTEC.

he CR-V i-DTEC was victorious in the competition, after driving 400 miles on real roads, the vehicle recorded a score of 84.34mpg, which is 31.37 per cent higher than Honda’s advertised figure- earning first place in the ‘Best Percentage Improvement’ category. Honda saw other success in the competition with the Civic Tourer winning ‘Outright MPG’ gold in its class for a 90.46mpg average. The CR-V and two Civics competing in the event were all powered by Honda’s clean 1.6 i-DTEC diesel engine, which is capable of emitting as little as 94g/km of carbon dioxide.

Mazda has released a new limited edition all - new Mazda MX-5 Sport Recaro, but will be limited to just 600 cars. The vehicle will be based on the 2.0-litre 160ps Sport Nav variant, and retains the finely balanced performance and handling of a standard car, but benefits from added exclusivity and sporty styling enhancements inside and out. The all - new MX-5 has the lowest centre of gravity yet, and its styling reflects its focus on driving pleasure in an unmistakably contemporary and dynamic way, an example of Mazda manufacturing using their KODO: Soul of Motion design philosophy. The Recaro Limited Edition builds on the MX-5’s sharp looks with a brilliant black sports aero kit that includes a rear spoiler plus, front, side and rear skirts. Piano Black door mirrors and 17” Diamond Cut alloy wheels with an engraved MX-5 logo to complete the stand out exterior appearance. In 2015, the Peugeot DKR crossed the line in 11th place and development on an improved model began almost immediately. The 2016 event takes place over two weeks in January and Team Peugeot Total have unveiled an all-star ‘dream team’ of Sebastien Love, Stephane Peterhansel, Cyril Despres and Carlos Sainz. The 38th edition of the rally covers close to 6,000 miles through Argentina and Bolivia, this means they will travel practically the entire width of South America. It starts in Buenos Aires and ends in Rosario two later on January 14th. The 2008DKR has been extensively evolved to become wider, faster, lower and more powerful. Complementing the aggressively feline look of the new car, a distinctive and fresh livery will ensure that the Peugeot stands out in the desert. The Peugeot will not only wear the colours of
all its partners in the Dakar project such as Total and Red Bull, it will also be capped by a silvercoloured roof for the first time: designed to reflect the harsh sunshine of the Argentine summer, where temperatures can exceed 50 degrees centigrade. There have been a number of changes from the previous Dakar model, with evolutions both above and below the skin. The weight distribution has been significantly altered due to the new dimensions, for example, spare wheels are now

stored in the sidepods of the car, which lowers the centre of gravity and improves handling. The fresh skin has been specifically designed around the new eye-catching shape, which creates one of the most impressive sights on the Dakar, due to accentuating both the flat panels and the curves. It has been important for Peugeot that the design cues and livery also emphasise the family resemblance to the Peugeot 2008 road car, they have succeeded in this and the vehicle roots are obvious in the rally raid machine.
Bruno Famin, Peugeot Sport Director commentated: “If the car goes as well as it looks, then we are certainly set for a strong year next year! In its definitive livery, the new Peugeot 2008 DKR16 looks like it’s going really fast even when it’s standing still. We know that our cars will definitely have a strong visual presence on the Dakar: now it’s down to us as a team to make the most of that.”

The S model provides a more sporting and dynamic character to the Vitara line up. The new Vitara has been a success since it was launched eight months ago, with over 5,000 units sold to date. The sportier upgrades on the S model include 17” gloss black alloy wheels, unique grille design, satin silver door mirrors, LED Headlamps with red projector covers, rear upper spoiler and black side body mouldings. The sportier theme on the interior continues with red interior stitching, red accents & instruments and aluminium alloy pedals.
The 1.4 litre engine offers strong benefits in performance too with 0-62mph acceleration time of 10.2 seconds for manual and automatic transmissions, with a top speed of 124mph. BOOSTERJET Engine The new S model will be the first Suzuki to be launched with the new BOOSTERJET technology which in the Vitara is a 140PS 1.4-litre Direct Injection turbocharged unit (DITC).
