AWARDED BEST IN CLA The New Jazz Awarded Best in Class Supermini 2015 by Euro NCAP CLICK HERE TO READ THE ARTICLE ONLINE WITH OUR BEAUTIFUL ONLINE READER

Each year, Euro NCAP publishes a list of cars that have performed the best in their respective categories. To achieve a ‘Best in Class’ award from Euro NCAP, cars from each category are assessed against a weighted sum of the scores in each of the four key areas of assessment: Adult Occupant, Child Occupant, Pedestrian and Safety assist. This sum is used as the basis for comparison of the vehicles. Secretary General, Dr. Michiel van Ratingen of Euro NCAP commented, “Euro NCAP congratulates Honda for the Jazz, which received the Best in Class of 2015 in the supermini category. The award recognizes the Jazz’s five star performance and Honda’s safety equipment

At Norton Way we are very proud of the Honda Jazz’s performance recently. The all-new Jazz has been awarded with independent safety organisation Euro NCAP’s prestigious Best in Class 2015 award in the supermini category. Earlier in 2015 the Jazz achieved a maximum 5-star safety rating. Jazz took the title from a field of nine superminis in total.

This commitment to safety is highlighted by each Honda model available in Europe – Civic, CR-V, Jazz and the HR-V – achieving the full 5-star rating from Euro NCAP. 2015 was a big year for Honda and we have seen the Jazz and our other new products being embraced and appreciated by the customers, as well as organisations such as Euro NCAP.”

Three million new mo N O R T O N WAY C O R P O R AT E • I S S U E 1 6 • F E B 2 0 1 6

MAZDA has now produced three million new-generation models. Last month Mazda Motor Corporation hit a fantastic milestone of globally producing three million new-generation vehicles featuring SKYACTIV Technology and KODO: Soul of Motion design. The milestone was reached approximately four years after production started on the first new-generation modelThe CX-5 at the Hiroshima Plant in November 2011.

The new-generation line-up now includes the Mazda CX-5, Mazda6, Mazda3, Mazda2, Mazda CX-3 and Mazda MX-5. Production of these vehicles are in Hiroshima and Hofu in Japan, Thailand, China and Mexico, as well as being assembled in Russia, Vietnam and Malaysia. “The entire Mazda Group is united by single-minded desire to deliver our customers driving pleasure. That’s why we take on so many challenges,” said Mazda’s President and CEO, Masamichi Kogai. “Those efforts have paid off, and we have been able to exceed the three million-unit mark because our new-generation models have proven so popular with customers all over the world. We are grateful to each and every customer who chose one of our cars. Moving forward, Mazda continues to work hard to brighten people’s lives through car ownership and aim to become a “one-and-only” brand that builds a special emotional bond with customers.” 8

A main aim of next- generation models is to deliver driving pleasure, outstanding environmental and safety performance to all customers. In order to achieve this, every new-generation model is equipped with SKYACTIV Technology. This means each model has completely redesigned engines, transmissions, vehicle bodies and chassis which dramatically enhance the fundamental performance of the vehicle. Another key aspect of these models is that each is designed under the KODO: Soul of Motion design theme, which expresses the strength and beauty of animals in motion. The result of this is Mazda has now enhanced its brand presence by creating a group of vehicles marked by a strong and consistent design message. Mazda’s new generation models have also enjoyed critical acclaim, racking up over 200 awards worldwide. Their most prestigious achievements include CX-5, Mazda2 and MX-5

all winning Japan Car of the Year. Whilst in the UK, the new-generation models have won a raft of awards from leading magazines and motoring groups. So what does the future hold for the newgeneration models? Mazda currently have no confirmed releases for the UK. But last year we did see the CX-9 design confirmed for release in North America in Spring 2016. We also saw the RX- Vision Concept previewed at the Tokyo Motor Show, although there is no confirmed release date, it would be great to see this vehicle in the UK. At Norton Way Mazda we are loving the newgeneration line up, you too should experience it for yourself and contact our Mazda Business team, today by phone 01462 754 700, by email corpsales@nortonway.com or visit us online here.

VITARA WINS THE SUNDAY TIMES TOP 100 CARS OF 2016 CLICK HERE TO READ THIS ARTICLE ONLINE WITH OUR ONLINE READER

The Vitara was matched up with competition from four different brands and sent on a number of different testing tasks. Not only did the Vitara take the prize, it also had the accomplishment of being the lowest price derivative out of the 5 models. The Sunday Times comments: “Squint — hard — and you might mistake the new Vitara for a Range Rover Evoque. That’s because Suzuki’s crossover has morphed from a cheap and cheerful off-roader into a primped, well-equipped vehicle that’s top of its class. This has a lot to do with the low starting price.”

We have some fantastic news for the Suzuki Vitara, as it has been voted as the winner of the compact crossover category in The Sunday Times Top 100 cars of 2016.
