THE WINGMAN NORWICH

Our friend, Ninnie Lear, recently launched The Wingman– Norwich’s finest crispy succulent chicken wings; twice cooked, coated with the ‘Wingman’ Korean sweet, spicy sauce, topped with chilli and spring onions. Their debut pop up event was huge success. Ninnie and his team smashed it! Look out for more wingman wonders at the birdcage New Years Eve party. New Collection / “New Yarns For a New Year”

We’re always looking for ways to develop our products so we can bring you unique items that look good, wash well, and last longer. In a world filled with consumerism in which so much of the product is designed to break and be replaced, we believe its important to challenge this and not become a contributor to these inconsiderate wasteful ways. Our new collection is better cut, pre-washed and made with a heavier cotton built for longevity. We’ll be introducing our new range of bamboo/cotton blend t-shirts and a range of premium organic cotton t-shirts that have a much softer feel and minimal design. Let us introduce you to the new line up:

Bamboo

As well as being a great material for construction, medicine and many other uses (found a bamboo bong at a bamboo river house in Thailand once) it’s also a great sustainable textile. Fast-growing with no need for pesticides or fertilisers and with environmental credentials far outweighing cotton we believe Bamboo to be quite simply, very dope.

It feels soft as silk and benefits from kind-to-skin properties. Perfect for those with sensitive skin, it

SHHHH COLLECTION LAUNCH PARTY

@ Birdcage

Saturday 20th December keeps you warm in the cold and cool in the sun. Not only this but bacteria doesn’t live well in this fabric. So it doesn’t hold odour even after several days, unlike synthetic fabrics and cotton. The unique properties of bamboo clothing make it perfect for an incredibly wide range of activities, great for the gym, skating etc.

Organic Fair Trade Cotton

We have been using organic cotton and fair trade garments for many years so this is nothing new. However this season welcomes a whole new quality of t-shirt. Our new organic t-shirt range have been put through an enzyme wash treatment for a super soft finish.

Recycled

This collection also welcomes our new recycled polyester t-shirts. They are made from 50% organic cotton / 50% recycled post consumer polyester. In a nutshell…turning plastic bottles into something you can wear.

SHhhh is an exhibition on garments and these are our new canvasses for the art. The collection will be hitting the Dogfish shelves on Saturday 20th December.

Collection Launch / Party

To celebrate the launch of our new collection we are hosting a pop up shop and Christmas party at the Birdcage on Saturday 20th December. As well as showing the new collection we thought it would be a nice opportunity to showcase and sell the work of our friends and creatives that have collaborated with us other the years. So alongside the clothing expect to see art, prints, zines and other artisan items from a diverse cluster of local creatives. A perfect chance to pick up unique gifts and last minute stocking fillers.

The shop opens at 11am and closes at 7pm. Following this will be the SHhhh Christmas party and the collective DJ’s will be digging out the grooves for a festive boogie ‘til midnight.

@ Birdcage on Saturday 20th December. 7pm ‘til 12am. Free entry all night.
