Belle & Sebastian have re-invented the pop festival; they signed to a tiny independent label but still beat Steps to a BRIT, before sweeping into the Top 40, then the Top 20. Now they’re coming to the Norwich Lanes to play OPEN and present their 9th studio album, ‘Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance’ which blends electro-glide, baroque balladry and giantsized Europop hooks. Unique, unpredictable and fiercely loved, tickets for this gig are in high demand.

Lanes B&B Makes The Telegraph

It was great news for 38 St Giles in November as the Telegraph deemed the Boutique B&B as one of the four best hotels for Christmas shopping in the UK. Praised for being ‘friendly and well run’, the Telegraph highlighted the location of the guesthouse with its closeness to 10 different Christmas markets, the independent department store Jarrold and ‘medieval lanes for independent shops’. Not only that, 38 St Giles are celebrating being one of the few B&Bs listed in the Michelin Guide 2015.

Norwich Arts Centre: Britain’s Best Small Venue

Huge congratulations go to the Norwich Arts Centre as they were crowned Britain’s Best Small Venue 2014 by NME.

The 290 capacity venue, situated in a renovated church in the Norwich Lanes, beat competition from 10 other venues on the shortlist for this year’s award. Speaking to NME about the venue’s victory, venue director Pasco-Q Kevlin said: “As a venue it’s something that the city loves. Artists love it too, because it’s intimate. The stage is almost half the floor space, so it’s a real upfront experience for an audience and for a band. It’s a bit belt-and-braces, but it’s special”.

Hoskins Hair

Say hello to Hoskins Hair, now open on St Giles Street. A destination for the creative community, where individualism flourishes and independents thrive, Hoskins fits right in as a concept salon, opened by Jamie Hoskins, an established London stylist.
