The AeroCat "buy-back old" and "lease new" carts scheme is really a winner, for any airline, and is very simple and straightforward. To explain: 1. The airline will have an existing inventory of carts; (hopefully ATLAS*) carts, say 1,000 or 3,000 or 10,000 or whatever quantity it is, in various conditions from new, to beaten/battered. (AeroCat is only able to offer Atlas at the moment - Half Size and Full Size ATLAS type are the two common sizes) 2. AeroCat will arrange for a specialist trading partner to send an inspector to assess and value the existing inventory (for resale to the world airline market). 3. The valuation of the existing inventory will be agreed by AeroCat, with the airline, either at the resale price, or the book value, (it doesn’t matter to us) as on the airline's own company accounts. 4. That valuation will then be built into the lease construction, by AeroCat's finance provider. 5. Then a delivery and swap over of carts will take place, in batches of say 100 or 500 carts, at a time, or however the airline wants to do it. So, immediately, the airline gets in some money for its existing/old stock of carts. While at the same time it then starts to pay a very small monthly fee to rent (less than one dollar a day per cart) for brand new, state of the art, fully approved, lightweight carts. So immediately the airline starts saving money by having less weight on the aircraft (= fuel saving). Plus stronger, more durable, more secure (14 locks) brand new carts Also, if any carts breakdown (highly unlikely) except from normal wear and tear (wheels and brakes), AeroCat will immediately take it out of the system and replace it with a brand new one. It's a perfect way for an airline, especially one with not much cash, to have a completely modern fleet of light-weight, modern, plastic carts, without any upfront payment. Even better than that, they get some money in for their old carts, which they can use for some other purpose. And, with RFiD they can trace exactly where their carts are.
