top 10 of 2015 As this year’s search for Nottingham’s Independent Business of the Year gets under way, we look back at the diverse range of businesses that made the Top Ten in 2015. Last year there was a record number of nominations – almost 7,000 in total. After these were counted, those businesses with the highest number of nominations made the final top ten and went through to the judging stage. From these, an overall winner was chosen and two businesses were highly commended. The competition places the spotlight on the very best that the city has to offer, from specialist shops and high end restaurants to traditional eateries and live music venues. The following great businesses made the final top three last year. The Treat Kitchen

VOTE NOW Vote for your favourite independent Business of 2016! Finally Chocolate Utopia is the chocolate lover’s haven and you most definitely deserve to treat yourself after a hard day’s shopping.

Nottingham BID was formed in 2012 following the merger of the existing retail and leisure BIDs, and the BID was successfully renewed for a second term in July 2015 with 89% of businesses voting in favour of a second term. A Business Improvement District (BID) is a defined geographical area, and the businesses within it opt (via a ballot) to pay an additional amount to provide services that they, as a group of businesses, think would benefit the city. 24 #independentnottm
