Quaresimali Biscotti ingredients

instructions 1. Pre-heat oven to 375°F. 2. Toast #almonds in jelly roll pan for 10 minutes. Let cool. Grind finely 1/4 of the #almonds, mix w/ 1/4 cup of the granulated #sugar and set aside. Grind coarsely the remaining 3/4 almonds and set aside. In a large bowl stir together flour, remaining 3/4 cup sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and baking powder. Add the butter and stir until all ingredients are combined. 3. Stir in coarsely ground #almonds and the 2 1/2 of the #eggs, then knead the dough in the bowl until all ingredients are combined. Divide dough in half. 4. Form each half into a rectangle 15 x 4”. Transfer rectangles to baking sheets which have been buttered and floured. Brush rectangles well with 1/2 #egg combined with 1 1/2 tablespoons of #milk. Sprinkle with reserved almond/sugar mixture (left over mixture is delicious on vanilla ice-cream). Bake them in the upper third of the oven 375°F for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and skewer comes out clean. 5. Cut rectangles crosswise into slices 3/4” thick. Let stand 15 minutes in the turned-off oven. Transfer to racks and let cool thoroughly. 6. Store airtight.

Place cookies on your baking sheet and press them gently with your thumb into the center. 4. Using a piping bag fill the thumbprints with #Nutella. 5. Bake for 10 minutes.

instructions 1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line cookie sheets with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper. Set aside. 2. Using a stand or hand mixer, cream together the #butter and #creamcheese. Add the #egg and #extract and cream together until fully incorporated and a smooth consistency. Gradually add the cake mix approximately one cup at a time, stopping to scrape down the sides of the bowl. Batter will be thick. In a separate medium bowl, pour about half of the #redsugarsprinkles. 3. Roll batter into 1” balls, and then roll the dough balls in the #redsugarsprinkles. Place about 1 dozen cookie balls onto prepared cookie sheets and bake at 350°F for 9-10 minutes. While cookies bake, unwrap the kisses, so they are ready to go when cookies come out of the oven. When cookies are done baking, immediately press a kiss into the center of the cookie, and let cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes. Transfer cookies to cooling rack to cool completely. Serve right away or store in airtight container at room temperature. Can also freeze cookies, and bring to room temperature prior to serving.

Then, with the mixer still on, slowly add the flour and a pinch of #salt until just combined. 4. Add the #fruits and #nuts, including any liquid in their bowl, to the dough. Mix to combine. 5. Divide dough in half and place each piece on parchment paper. Form each half into a log of about 18” long and 1 3/4” thick. Refrigerate until firm (or freeze to bake at a later date). 6. When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350°. Cut the logs into 1/2” slices. Place on ungreased sheet pans and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

instructions 1. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with waxed paper or parchment and set aside for now. 2. Place the #chocolate in a large microwave-safe bowl and microwave it in 45-second intervals until melted, stirring frequently to prevent overheating. 3. Hold a #chip by one end and dip it halfway into the #chocolate. Let the #chocolate drip back into the bowl, tapping it against the edge several times to remove excess chocolate. 4. Place the dipped chip onto the baking sheet, then repeat until all of the chips are dipped in chocolate. 5. Refrigerate the chips for 15 minutes to set the chocolate, but don’t keep them in the refrigerator longer than that or they might become soggy.

1. Remove wrappers from #HersheyKisses. 2. Pre-heat oven to 375°F. 3. Beat #shortening (or 1 stick of butter) and #peanutbutter in large bowl until well blended. Add 1/3 cup #granulatedsugar and 1/3 cup #brownsugar; beat until fluffy. 4. Add into the bowl 1 #egg, #milk and #vanillaextract; beat well. 5. Stir together #flour, #bakingsoda and #salt in separate bowl. Gradually pour this into the peanut butter mixture, slowly pouring, then mixing, pouring, mixing. 6. Shape dough into 1” balls. Roll the balls in #granulatedsugar, if desired, for crunchy exterior; place on ungreased cookie sheet. 7. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. 8. Take out of oven and let them cool for 2 minutes. 9. Immediately press a #HersheyKiss into center of each cookie; cookie will crack around edges. 10. Remove from cookie sheet and place in refrigerator for 40 mins to cool completely. Makes about 48 cookies.

Pour melted butter over sugar. 5. Stir to combine butter and sugar. Let stand 5 minutes. 6. Add #egg and #eggyolk; stir to combine. 7. Stir in #vanillaextract. 8. Add #flour, #bakingsoda, and #salt. Stir until just combined. 9. Stir in #toffeebits and #chocolatechips. 10. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes to give the ingredients a chance to meld. 11. Using a medium cookie scoop (1.5 tbsp), drop scoops of dough 2� apart on prepared cookie sheet. 12. Bake for about 8-12 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are golden brown. 13. Let cool on cookie sheet for 5 minutes. Remove to wire rack to finish cooling.

instructions 1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Line 2 baking trays with parchment paper. 2. Using a whisk or standing mixer, whisk #eggwhites to stiff peaks. Fold in #amondflour, #powderedsugar, and #vanillaextract. Slowly stir in amaretto (dough should be sticky). 3. Using a teaspoon, scoop out dough and roll into a ball, then roll in #powderedsugar and place on baking tray. 4. Repeat until dough is used up. Leave some space as dough will expand slightly. 5. Use your finger to squish cookies ( just a little bit!) and then place in oven. 6. Bake for 15 minutes (or until the tops are cracked and cookies are light golden brown) and then cool for 5 minutes. Enjoy!

instructions 1. Heat the oven to 300°F. 2. In a mixing bowl with an electric mixer, combine the #butter and #sugar. 3. Cream the #butter and #sugar until light and fluffy. 4. Gradually stir #flour into the creamed mixture until well blended. 5. Spread or pat the dough in the bottom of an ungreased 13 x 9 x 2” baking pan (or use a 9” square pan for thicker shortbread). Or, roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface and cut out with round or square cookie cutters. Prick the dough all over with a fork. 6. Bake at 300° for 30 to 40 minutes, until just lightly browned. Remove from oven and immediately pierce all over with a fork. Cut into bars. Cool completely before removing from pan.

Line baking sheets with parchment. Roll out dough and dusting with #flour as needed. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters. Transfer to prepared baking sheets. (If dough gets soft, chill 10 minutes.) Repeat with remaining dough. 3. Bake, rotating halfway through, until edges are golden, 10 to 18 minutes (depending on size). 4. For the icing, sift confectioners #sugar into a small bowl. Whisk in (take out: #milk) #water, and lemon juice, 1 tablespoon at a time, until smooth and thick enough to coat the back of a spoon. If too thin, whisk in more sugar; if too thick, add more liquid. 5. Decorate as desired. Let the icing harden, about 20 minutes. 6. Enjoy and don’t forget to leave some for Santa!
